A’ali Potteries

4 Nov, '03

It’s been some time since I visited A’ali, one of the most ancient towns in Bahrain. It’s about 15kms from the capital Manama and famed for their pottery industries and burial mounds.

The reason I went is that Frances was opening her shop and she needed some pillars to use as display stands in her shop. I took the opportunity to take my trusty Canon IXUS 400 and shoot a few pictures and even a short movie!

Click on the strip to go to the gallery on Bahraini.TV, and potter picture to view the movie. This movie was edited on my brand spanking new Avid Xpress Pro video editing system at home. Not an Oscar presentation for sure, but good to waste my time doing stuff like this… relaxing.

update – Nov 7, 2004 Barhaini.TV and AlYousif.TV have both been taken down due to mounting work and not time to maintain those sites. For now the gallery is offline, but the movie is accessible.
