This picture was taken by Arif during our recent trip to Canada. This of course is the world famous Niagara Falls. This particular one in this picture is the American rather than the Canadian version, the Canadian side has the “horse-shoe” falls which are even more spectacular.

We were on the Maid of the Mist boat the morning that this picture was shot, and we were thoroughly drenched!

My humble apologies sis. I saw the IP address and that got my heckles up. I did suspect that it is someone else because the comment you entered was civil and I thank you for that.

You are more than welcome here, and please accept my apology again for assuming incorrectly that you were Alex. Incidently Alex is also very welcome here, I hope that by being virtually close to us moderate Muslims he will learn of the moderation and true picture of Islam (stay away from this thread Steve!).

Thats totally OK. Im really enjoying your blog & the pictures! Wish i had known you guys before, would have loved to take you around. My office is very close to Eaton Centre. Just wondering did Arif get to meet Vince Carter? Where did you stay in Toronto? Couldn’t find any blog articles on that. I came across your blog while i was researching something on Bahrain. I haven’t been to Bahrain (YET!) but i remember my co worker pointing it out while we were on a Dubai -Jeddah Flight. It was sparkling at night…….

Thanks very much! We didn’t feel like foreigners or strangers in Toronto, we completely blended in (not too hard to do judging by the people we have met in Toronto!) and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Canada now, and Toronto in particular is a favourite destination bar none.

We stayed at the Glen Grove Suites (wouldn’t recommend it to anyone actually, it’s a bit decrepit and had I known better I would have looked harder at getting a better place, but what the heck, we learn from experiences.)

The important thing is that everyone was thrilled with the holiday. Arif’s highlight of the whole experience was the Vince Carter camp, and not only did he meet him in the flesh, he sat next to him on several occasions and practiced blocking with him. Vince took the time to chat to Arif a lot about Bahrain etc, especially when he knew that he travelled all the distance just to do his camp! We have some very nice pictures with Arif and Vince taken by the official photographers (understandably they didn’t allow people to shoot while Vince was around.)

I’m sure we will cross paths in the physical world and I look forward to that. Maybe next summer we’ll do lunch!
