Mtc-Bulls Shaikh Salman bin Rashid Al Khalifa walked into the history books once again securing the Formula BMW Asia 2005 Championship. In true style Shaikh Salman drove a cautious and smooth race working his way from seventh place to fifth.
Starting in pole was Armaan Ebrahim from Korean Team E-Rain who finished second in 22.18.067mins, just behind Michael Patrizi in 22.17.266 and in third place was Aaron Lim in 22.21.775mins. Needing just three points to win the championship, Mtc-Bulls Shaikh Salman simply worked his way round the track, not willing to take any risks and finished the 10laps, a total of 54.320kms in 22.26.683mins. The final race of the season saw some very skilful driving showing the progress of the racers during the year. Fellow Bahraini racer, Hamed Al Fardan led for nine laps and finally finished ninth in 22.38.967mins. Mtc-Bulls Shaikh Salman has finally wrapped up the series worth $20,000 but is just outside the regulations to take the prize of a full free season in the Formula BMW UK championship in 2006.
