Much to the chagrin of some contractors, it looks like the Ministry of Labour is rolling out their Ministerial Order for outdoors work stoppage from 12 noon to 4pm starting tomorrow. The Order was apparently published in the Official Gazette today.
I got this cute poster from the Ministry of Labour to celebrate the event:

hehe, funny!
(But I’d say the guy drinks not water, but vodka, look at his nose 😆 )

and the excellent site safety measures taken, and this is probably done by the MoL’s resident “artist” too!
Ah – I guess this is a step in the right way.
(I misread “siesta” in the title of this entry and thought to myself, “Oh no, not another Tiesto thing”. Sheeeeesh.)
Great idea, terrible artwork
I’m sorry to say but we still haven’t received the text of the order.
The PM’s initiative has to be commended but the Ministry of Labour have taken too long to publish a clear and thought out directive.
When it is published I sincerely hope it is concise and clear to all what the restrictions are going to be. This issue is an embarassment, it shouldn’t have taken over 2 weeks for the legal department at the Ministry to put out a considered and carefully notice.

I know and it is despicable. But in a way, it does demonstrate that at least the Chamber of Commerce is actually listened to in government, which is a surprise to me.
Regardless, I fully support the government in this endeavour and the sooner they do implement it (and also do something about the transportation of these hapless workers too) the better. Contractors will shout and scream for a while then they will just put their heads down and get on with the work.
