Oriental Patch

Oriental Patch, originally uploaded by malyousif.

I was finally able to take some pictures of the redone Oriental Patch with its new patch and the dry river bed effect at the Frangipani. I then stitched a few pictures together to show you a close panorama of the area.

Let me know if you have any suggestions etc.

You are lucky you can grow Frangipani like that. Here, they have to be grown in pots, and then pulled up in winter. They rarely get to that size in pots (there are some at the garden center, but they’re more than I want to spend).

That patch has a very South East Asian with a tinge of Japanese in it. I’m avoiding using Balinese, because I think the word is used way too much in the US for anything tropical in style with Buddhist elements in it.

Very nice, Mahmood. It must give you great pleasure to plan and finish such an extensive project. Some people wouldn’t understand the small pleasure someone could get in watching things grow, but there is nothing like watching each thing you have planted grow and bloom.

    So what’s next? Just kidding.

  3. Mahmood says:

Thank you both. What’s next? Next, my friend is that tomorrow morning I’m creating yet another border!

That should give me enough time to recover from the removal of one of my wisdom teeth (hold the jokes!)

  4. Barry says:

You’re welcome. Sorry about the wisdom tooth. I had all four of mine extracted When I was 18. That was incredible. No complications though except a missed vein for the anesthetics.

Another border ah? Jeeze, pretty soon you’re going to have to buy your neighbors out!
