I know. Ordinarily I would just delete them and be done with it. But the response of this person intrigues me. I know how Islamists think, but to go to the level of denigrating scientists and inventors, those who the whole “umma” will depend on for its growth and longevity is simply mind-boggling.

I want to understand, from this person who is presumably an Arab and a Muslim whose connection came from the UAE, what mush there is in his skull to get him to lash out like this. Or should we simply just give up?

Yes I did Sam. I decided against that as I anticipate the videos to be distributed beyond YouTube. Having embedded subtitles allows for this. If you’ve seen the broadcasts at Bahrain TV’s Arabic channel, you would have noticed that the broadcast version there does not have the subtitles (or titles in English), while the “Internet” version, the subtitles are embedded, obviously for a much larger audience.

Mahmood if your planning on using Youtube as a platform for delivery, have you considered using their closed captioning service instead of embedding subtitles into your timeline?

These short video “stings” are designed to get people to want more and go and investigate. Each one of these interviews lasted for at least an hour, so you can assume that there is an awful lot of more material than used in these short clips. We may release new episodes based on the same interviews in the future, or indeed create much longer interviews to be released.

My personal preference is to stay within the “YouTube Culture” and keep them short and sweet. My suggestion was 3 – 4 minutes and certainly less than 10. We’ll see how we can re-purpose them in the future.

This is excellent, but my only criticism for this specific piece is that Hissa, Yahya and Najla have their own company (National Youth Hand or something of the sort in Hidd) which gives final year university students project ideas and supports them in creating the final project whether its hardware or software and help market them in the big bad world thus creating a manufacturing culture.. I personally wouldn’t care less if they created remote controlled school bells! two minutes is way too short for these videos and I felt you let them speak more about their actual company would of made it worthwhile..
