Muslim Sects Rapprochement Forum

This is probably the most important picture for this year in Bahrain. What you see here is 7 of the main sects of Islam praying together! [+] I thought this would never ever happen because the differences between these sects although theoretically are minor, but practicly are huge bordering on the unsurmountable.

They have all come to Bahrain to take part in a global Muslim Rapprochement and views exchange in order to unite the Muslims and find ways to bring all these sects closer together. What is important to me is for them to end the bigotry, racism and discrimination against sects, especially the Shia in this region of the world.

This conference is long overdue, and I fully believe that without the pressures arising from Sept 11, this would have never happened.

We’ve had the Christianity/Islam Rapprochement conference in Bahrain last year, this year is the various Muslim sects forum so I hope that next year it will be a full interfaith rapprochement conference will happen once again in bahrain bringing Muslims, Christians and Jews together – the “people of the Book” deserve to understand each other better and bring our views closer so we can live in peace.
