Google Mania

What’s the big deal with Google? I’ll tell you what, it is now the defacto standard spy-gear, not just a search engine!

“Googling” has now become a transitive verb and no matter who you are in the world, give me 30 minutes and I’ll discover things about you you didn’t want to make public!

Heck, if you personally don’t rank well in google, you’re out of luck and might affect your job prospects!

So just for the hell of it, and as Gregor advised, I put my name to the test and here’s what I found:

Search for “mahmood” resulted in 208,000 hits, of which this very blog – mahmood.tv – ranks number 1! Whoopie!!

Searched for “Mahmood Al-Yousif” and that came out with 4,400 pages, which means according to the links above that I almost know what I’m talking about!

The down side of all this? My junkmail increased exponentally as compared to last year, and vagrant, useless spam invaded my sites so many times that I almost considered just shutting off comments all-together…
