Bahraini blogger makes the front page!

This is Al-Watan, the newest newspaper on the island, and it has, by publishing the marked article, demonstrated that it is nothing more than a bought and paid-for newspaper. Nothing more and nothing less.

They chose to “feature” Dr. Abdulhadi Khalaf, a gentleman and a scholar, a dissident and a member of parliament which was dissolved in 1975, in a very bad light. Trying desperately to link him with the derogatory comics about the Prophet (pbuh) and doing a pretty bad job at it.

I guess this is what you call yellow journalism.

I think; however, what they really took umbrage at is this article!

    *watching the news*
Great!! Now, some stupid twits are raging the Danes embassy in London and shouting “Bin Laden” and “Nuke Denmark and USA” over and over again!!

Seriously, what line of reasoning do they have to think that this is the best way to go about it!!??

*Can’t bring my self to assign any more attention to this issue..*

Maybe I’ll go draw a cartoon of several prophets looking down at humanity and sighing “how do they manage to miss the point every single time!!”

Hooray for Dr Khalaf! Now he can be sure that people will be reading his posts.

It is sad however that Al Wa6an has turned out to be another bought newspaper. Let’s hope that the upcoming Al Waqt fares better.

hah! I would love to see the editor’s face when he heard the king during this interview (arabic) confirm without a shadow of a doubt of the inviolability of the freedoms of speech and expression!
