Happy Friday everyone!

This is one of the two pigeons we had which hatched on the upstairs window ledge. They both just left their nest this morning. Tremendous growth spurt in just three weeks, from tiny egg to this!

This is my gift to Lebanon, may it find peace very soon and rebuild itself into a much more cohesive and stronger nation, as I am sure it will. Lebanon is nothing if not resilient.

PEACE.

    a comment from Israel:
I don’t know what to think about the whole shitty situation, I keep thinking on the little girl with the bandage over her eyes in a hospital in Beirut, and the woman who saw her husband die from a katusha in Naharia.
And I am sitting at my house in Kiryat-Ono (near Tel Aviv), and it fills like every thing is happening far far away from here. I go to work, I take my child to the park, I try to study, and all this time a bad filling is handing over my head, and I fill like I can’t do anything about it, and about this situation. I don’t know who is right and who is wrong, I don’t know if blowing up Lebanon and killing inconent people, children for the sake of stopping Hisballa is the right thing, how horrible it sounds, I some time think maybe, if we will do it, it will stop the problem once and for all.
I read today an article that time out editor in Lebanon wrote about Beriut and it breaks my heart.
This is an emotional response, not logical, but I am not in a place to be logical yet, it is not the time to say, what is right and what is wrong logically. But for sure the diplomatic road has not being climbed at all, and it seems that my governments wont go there before it destroys half of Lebanon, and that is sad and wrong. How can we be democratic country like that. We copy our bigger brother and what he did in Iraq, and see what is happening there… no winners, only lost.
I just want to say sorry for all the people in Beirut, and hope that all this shit (quoting Bush), will finish sun. I am sure we will have many years to rebuild what we destroyed, and I am not referring only to the buildings.

They look a lot like the doves in my yard. What is the species? A pair of mourning doves built a nest in my flowerpot. You could walk right up to them and watch the babies get bigger day by day. I like to hear them coo in the morning – they sound just like owls.

    > How can we be democratic country like that.

Sadly, democracies engage in wars just as like states with other forms of government. A recent poll shows an overwhelming majority of Israelis support the current actions. That’s democracy for you. I wonder what the results of that poll would be if there were more answers than just “Yes” and “No”. Perhaps “Yes, but the use of force is excessive.”

I’m afraid my elected leaders do not make very smart use of Israel’s undoubtedly superior force. Power corrupts.

I also suspect that some of Israel’s opponents would have used such powers far more excessively if they had access to the same means available to Israel.

Coming back from a long trip abroad and the first thing I see on your blog is this picture. Beautiful. So as always, whatever we do, life goes on, and it’s worth living.
    Keep up the good work.

Thanks Mahmood. Been away for 5 weeks (business trip). Glad to be back home. Looking at the site, you sure have been busy these last weeks.

BTW, I’m looking for a place to buy Adobe Photoshop elements for Mac 4.0 here in Bahrain. Anyone knows where to get it? Tried to download it but I am in the bad-boy pipe again (I have been away for 5 weeks and I am throttled already!! 🙁

    Hi Mahmood!
    Greetings from who-know-where-is-it Zagreb, Croatia!
Just thought you might like to see hawks nest built at my balcony at 20th floor three years ago. Two squadrons of hawks have been born there on my balcony this so called ‘wild animals’ chosed for their home. Obviously, there is no Empty Nest Sindrome here!

By the way, take a look at my main web site
