Wow, that’s really amazing. It looks so frail! but the color is powerful, a brilliant orange, really. It looks a bit like butterflies…

I agree with Simon about the power of the color and veining versus the fraility and grace of the ruffles of the flower. The picture makes you feel like it’s right in front of you and you could reach out and feel the texture. Terrific picture. Thanks, Mahmood.

Pretty flowers, Hey since you are so good in flowers and plants and stuff which i obviously lack knowledge of, could you please tell me what is the best gift you can give to a special person on a special occasion ?

Keep on shooting stuff with that camera of yours i really like the picture you make.

    best of luck

Not such a special day here. 7/7 will always be a sad day in Britain.

Not always, and don’t give in. Be happy inspite of terrorists. If nothing else, that pisses them off mightily!

Hey — did you know there’s a huge day of fasting in the U.S. today? A man named Lou Engel called on believers in Jesus to fast starting 40 days ago and to come together today in Nashville for repentance, worship, and prayer on behalf of the U.S. and the world. They’ve booked a stadium and are expecting more than 200,000 people to come, free of charge. What a great way to honor God and focus on Him on 07/07/07! Check it out at http://www.thecall.com/.

“Hey — did you know there’s a huge day of fasting in the U.S. today?”

Hey- did you know it’s un-American to fast on a Saturday, especially during the Baseball season?

Modern Nazarites? gimme a break. The Nazarites were a dopey Israelite biblical sect who weren’t allowed to drink or eat anything that grew on a vine: grapes, raisins, wine, olives, vinegar — wot, no salad dressing? Plus they weren’t allowed to cut any hairs from their body — no shaving, no hair cuts, no removing those ugly hairs growing inside a wart — like hippies, who pray a lot, stoned on mind-expanding drugs. The Nazarites also weren’t allowed to touch a dead body — so if any if their parents or children died, they couldn’t help prepare the body for burial– or even attend the funeral.

Also, they were big on sacrificing animals: turtles and pigeons and lambs and other ‘burnt offerings’ to atone for sins – if you guys are gonna do any of that today at your fast, you better get a city permit for butchery in a public venue (or is that stupidity in a public venue? — but remember, don’t eat any of the cooked meat — )

Instead of fasting, maybe what Lou Engle should incorporate as an exercise in self-control is the idea of birth-control — Lou and his wife have seven children — don’t they know that’s an obscene number of brats to extrude out a woman’s loins in this day and age? I mean, Lou, common – it’s 2007, not 700 bce.

Oooh look Mahmood, you’ve got your first protestant evangelical proselytizer (at least that’s how I see that).

    yup–

there’s no shortage of messianic morons in the world…
the planet breeds them like flies

It is so beautiful, I think that you should sign it, frame it and give it to your wife as a gift. 🙂
