Self help. Regurgitated.

After reading so many self help or development books, I think I’m veering toward the the idea that they’re mostly unimaginative and uncreative regurgitaions. And that I would be better served – and entertained – by reading fiction.

Any you would recommend?

One really great novel is “Drifting Cities” by Stratis Tsirkas. It is set in Alexandria in the 1940s. Written in Greek, but easily found in English translation.

Try also stories by R B Cunningham Graham. There is a good selection in a volume called “Rodeo”. Most are set in Argentina, some in North Africa.
