emoodz on the front page!

Mohammed Al-Maskati - emoodz.comFellow Bahraini blogger Mohammed Al-Maskati is featured on the front page of the GDN this morning. The inside article further amplifies on his discovery of the possibility of his blog being monitored by the authorities.

Well done Mohammed!

Sure, be careful in what you write, but let your conscience ultimately dictate what you should write. Remember, blogging is the only remaining frontier they do not have a monopoly on and they most certainly do not have control over us. Don’t give in. Doing so would mean that they won against not just us, but the freedom of expression as a whole.

Finally, a blogger up on the front page of a local newspaper for something other than a lawsuit! Now that is something to be proud of!

LOL! I just searched for Bandar on your site .. and boy oh boy! I sure did open a can of worms. Can you please adjust, alert, delete, change, remove the offensive name from all your posts? Also, since I am not in Bahrain… can someone call Al Bandar.. I mean the resort.. and urge them to change their name. Also, do you know of any rich Saudi called Bandar? Can you please kindly advise him to take his business elsewhere over the weekend?

I think I have an idea to take the steam out of this issue. All bloggers just upload entries with the word “Bandar” repeated 300 times.. like so

    “Bandar Bandar Bandar Bandar..”

    everyday.. and twice on saturdays.

Good thing the papers are writing about bloggers.. in a couple of years you’ll be running away from paparazzi and yellow papers

SBG, I’ve suggested this before: how about changing everything to “The Report That Cannot Be Mentioned” and the main antagonist as “Voldemort” while the protagonist should be called Snape?

    moodz, I hear ya!

Joker, have some pineapple juice on me would you? I sure do need to jump on a plane and go on holiday away from blogging and the internet for a few days!

Moody, for a son of one of the best parliamentarians we’ve had in the last session, you should have some political posts… either that or convince your dad to have his own blog.

Hisham, let them look, who cares? To make it easier for them I’ve put not one, but two search boxes on my site: one for just the articles, and the other which is Google based, would drill down to the minute level. I hope they have fun!

This is inspiring…I envision graffiti, real or otherwise, all over. Bandar…I hear the coinage of a new verb…

    Main Entry: bandar
    Pronunciation: ‘ban-dar
    Function: verb
Etymology: Arabic, perhaps from Bandargate scandal (See encyclopedic entry pp. 2301-2705).

1: to deprive one of speaking freely (esp. honestly) he was bandered by authorities.>
2: to slap one silly and call them sally he was bandared by his wife.>
3: to disrupt the natural order of corruption in middle eastern countries.
