ah, hang on a minute… so through diligent surveillance the US, UK and Russia have foiled a plot to smuggle shoulder-fired missiles to the States. Good job. The perpetrators are not Muslim. So now the US will undoubtedly remove the restrictions on their Muslim citizens and visitors? Or will it continue to corral us all (Arabs, Muslims and particularly the Arab Muslims) for the indefinite future?
With the tens of thousands of people of Arab descent who have been gathered up, photographed, finger-printed, incarcerated, and harassed in the States since 9/11, did they find one terrorist so far? Wouldn’t the money given to Homeland Security be better spent on enterprises as that which captured the real threat of terrorism in this successful operation? Nothing beats hard work. Corralling people haphazardly obviously doesn’t do anything but feed the feeling of humiliation and antagonism that these innocent people invariably feel towards the US.
