Hands up who hasn’t received a letter from the son of the cousin (twice removed) of the ex-Finance Minister of Nigeria Mr. Olihouri Mutton?
I thought so, about 19,429,230.57 people received the heart pumping, adrenaline rushing letter in the world so far, and no, I shall no longer consign them to the junk-mail folder, I shall keep them as prize possessions and author a very insightful book on the 419 scam at the end of next year, with the help of the good people like 419eater.com and the many others who prize these tomes around the world!
Why, if they waste our time, hog bandwidth, and be persistent about it, why not us wasting THEIR time?! Hell, I’ve even got a guestbook entry from such a wanker! Yes bozo, hover over Nigeria and you’ll find it…
Anyway, by way of the Guardian today, I found a very interesting article entitled “Nigerian email con men fall into their targets’ net“, and you just MUST visit one of the sites mentioned: 419eater.com where I found this lovely gem – go to the Letters Archive and prepare to roll on the floor laughing your guts out. And make SURE you don’t drink anything while you’re reading them, because believe me you’ll choke! You have been warned!
419eater.com starts off with a very good reply, but their stipulation is for their “counter-victim” is to send a unique photograph, and then sign an agreement. Here’s one picture with the guy being instructed to take with a loaf of bread on his head and a bottle of wine in his mouth! You have to read the “Widows of Nigeria” letters to understand, but these will give you a taste of what’s to come 🙂

Nigerian 419 Scam, Baiters hit back!
As-Salaamu ‘alaikum, This is Yusuf Smith aka Indigo Jo here, I’ve been receiving loads of these wretched scam letters but until I read the 419 eater website I didn’t realise how stupid these crooks were. What you don’t mention is that they trawl Muslim matrimonial databases and send help-a-Muslim-sister sob stories to the people on there. I have a page on this scam at http://www.geocities.com/indigojo_uk which has a number of links.
