Small world! Luc just came in and smiled when I showed him the last post! His father wanted him to be a pilot but Luc had a different passion. They call him the water bomber medicine man. Ironically his father and 4 uncles were fighter pilots in WWII, and amazingly they all came back. His brother is currently a commercial pilot with Air Transat, out of Quebec. I have e-mailed you about the reg. Thank you again! Best regards, L & L

Mahmood: Got your email, thanks. Still can’t sign in though. Should I wait for a longer period of time before being activated or change user name? Not a problem to do. L & L

When you come back from your trip, do you mind letting me know where your wife’s shop in Bahrain is? I’m interested to pay it a visit. I currently live in London, but I should be going to Bahrain sometime around June.
Thanks a lot!

Mahood: I need your assistance with a few questions about registering: If I put my e-mail in does it show up when I post? If I choose not to fill in some of the boxes does this deny the registry? I’ve tried once before but it didn’t seem to work. I admit I am naive about the internet, blogging and posting but I can catch on eventually. After I reg. here I recieved three e-mails in my inbox; since I did not recognize I dumped them. Is that where I went wrong? I’ve also learned about spyware and since we HAVE to use dial up, I have at least three active programs to help me. Hope you can assist me

Re: Off to Cyprus

Sorry about that, the system I use is not the “regular” blog software which normally is MT or whatever, but a full-fledged Content Management System named Xaraya. In the CMS world in order to register you have to fill in the minimum details required (here it is only your name/alias and a “real” email address.)

The system would then send you a confirmation email (to ensure that you are who you say you are!) with a confirmation code as well as a link to click so that you would be validated. Once validated you will get a password for you to log in using your selected alias/name and password. You can of course change the password to anything you like by clicking the “customize” link at the top of the page (that link will only appear once you have logged in) as well as change the display type of comments, number of articles to see etc.

If you would email me on mahmood@mahmood.tv the name you registered under, I will activate your account.

sorry for the trouble!

No he’s not flying he’s not a pilot a AME for a long time on these babies. 25 yrs with the company. Loves these planes. Knows all about them and he worked in quality and control as well. That’s why we are here in Greece just delivered the latest delux model. By the way that is me above asking for help in registering. L

Re: Off to Cyprus

Ah, we have more in common then! I used to be an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer too! I was Avionix though, not a greese monkey, although I dabbled in that one too when needed. I worked mainly on the Fokker F-27, Viscount (college), then with Gulf Air on the Boeing 737 and 767. Hated the Lockheed L1011! But quit just as the Airbuses came in and became a Commercial Pilot instead! Chucked that out of the window when the ’91 war started (no jobs, long story) and began my own company… ironically, I fly more now than when I was an airline employee! go figure 🙂

About the registration, just email me the username you selected and I’ll do the rest…

Sure! “Frankie’s” is at the Najeebi Centre (ask for Spinneys! they know the whole mall as that rather than the official name) in Saar. Her shop is on the first floor, you can’t miss it.
