Demonstrators from the Magaba village were out this afternoon on the Budaiya highway peacefully demonstrating against the government’s plans to build roads through their ancient cemetary.
More power to them.
sorry about the quality of the picture, it was taken with my camera phone
Friday demo: Magaba refuses roads cutting through cemetary
Superb stuff. How much more of Bahrain has to be concreted over with roads?

Re: Friday demo: Magaba refuses roads cutting through cemetary
especially the one in Magaba. It is reportedly the oldest in that area (Budaiya) with history going back hundreds if not thousands of years.
Al-Wasat reports that the demonstrators were wondering why the Shi’a Endowment board – which oversee all Shi’a graveyards in Bahrain – just kept this issue quiet and even sanctioned the building of the road in the first place, and have asked who are they (the board) are working for in the first place?
