We made it to Montreal and will be here until Monday. Just spur of the moment thing really… decided that we just cannot come to Canada and miss Montreal so in the van we go and 5 hours later we’re in Montreal’s China Town. We’re about to go have breakfast (they’ve got wireless internet in this hotel!! yipee!!) and then we’re off to explore the old town, McGill University, water front, and then to the underground city…
much fun!

Hope you get to enjoy some of the great cuisine here as well. How are you and your family, liking Canada? We’ve been back from your time zone for about a month now, and haven’t had internet on a regular basis so just catching up on what’s happening on your blog. Tomorrow morning off we go to Ontario for a visit with family there.

thanks for the welcome and suggestions! we’ve been out all day traversing the lovely streets of Montreal having fun with the Comedy and Jazz festivals!
Yesterday we took a horse-drawn carriage tour through the old city and we went to Notre Dam, wonderful!
Shame that we have to leave tomorrow, but I’m sure that Montreal will feature majorly in our itenerary should we come back to Canada, which is more than likely after this trip!
Strange thing is on the way over, we stopped for coffee at one of the hundreds of Tim Horton’s stops on the highway and I ran into a friend who moved to Canada from the UK to set up his business here! Absolutely out of the blue.. so Peter Connaway, we’ll meet once again tomorrow hopefully!!!! 🙂

You make all of us in the desert countries so excited to get away!! It is a small small world; while flying into Amsterdam on PanAm a man introduced himself to me as a “cousin”. Unbelieving as i was, I tried to put him off. He persisted. His mother was truly my father’s aunt. We were both from opposite ends of the country and had no idea of one another. We were both on the same tour; he had seen my name on the tour manifest. He had been a soldier in WWII who had the responsibility of repatriating the lost treasures buried in the salt mines of Austria. Those works of art stolen by Hitler. He was making a trip back to see if what he had worked on remained. He was very disappointed…May I also invite you to my leadership blog, I hope you like it. AM
