Just mucking around with the site today. Hopefully to the better. I’ve put up a bunch of buttons on the left in the utilities block, hover over a button to see the help message and what it does.
If you want to link to Mahmood’s Den and promote it (of course you do!) I’ve created a small button that you might want to use. Please click on the button to display the html code to place on your website or blog to display the button correctly.
Removed the buttons at the bottom of the screen, they were annoying the heck out of me, but put them all in one location in the util block.
I stole some of these buttons from my good friend Doug Daulton! Thanks Doug for your inspiration! You can steal them from me if you wish, or create your own by going to the excellent GtmcKnight site and follow the instructions there, pretty painless.
Can’t remember what else I was up to…

I’m confused …
Where’s this button? Sure, I’ll link to you from www.sandeeland.com … you’ve been on my Links page (any referrals?).
Oh, while I’m here – we sold the C4s, my C4 is now for sale … and my poor 914 was flat-bedded home last week after winning 1st place in some diddly car show. A 28 cent Home Depot nut fixed it (that, after the $300 towing charge!). 🙁
Re: I’m confused …
click on this button
and it will take you to the links page to get the code. If you’re comfortable with html, you could just “save as” the button and put the code on your site to link to this one.
I’m in two minds, do I sell my 1992C2 or keep it? I offered it for sale last year and no one wanted to buy it at the price I wanted, which I thought was very fair, now a friend is considering buying it, however the price I’ve put on it now is way low.
The essense is that I don’t think I want to sell such a classic, yes I’m infatuated with it… but I want to gather some dosh to go and get a Cayanne!
… oh, THAT button.
I saw that one – I thought there was some fancy fancy Mahmood button. Gotcha. Over and out. Yawn, slow day at the office today.
Re(1): I’m confused …
Don’t you DARE sell that 92 Porsche. Unless of course Francis makes you dump it. The thing is a beauty. Now what would you spin around the F1 track? A mininvan?
If you sell the car you will hate yourself down the line. Besides won’t Arif needed it in a few years anyway?
No!!! Don’t do it!!!
Don’t under any circumstances sell the real thing and go for the Cayanne – its a car for middle aged housewives when they reach about that time when they cut their hair short/husbands stop having sex with them/start listening to Annie Lennox. Its going to destroy the Porsche brand.
Re: No!!! Don’t do it!!! 9-11 for Mahmood!!!!
I am afraid Mahmood may be having delusions due to nicotine withdrawal concerning the car. This is the time when all of us guys MUST ban together and reach out and support Mahmood in this terrible time of need. It is not Mahmood thinking about getting rid of the Porsche per se. It is the lack of nicotine causing this rash behavior. I have seen this car in person. Did the Homer Simpson thing viewing it and watched as the proud owner basked in the glow. Yes, I am convinced this is a nicotine withdrawal induced delusion that we must help him through. The ramifications if we don’t could be HORRIBLE for the entire male species.
I may be middle-aged, but …
I’m certainly not a housewife, and I’m not even going near that comment about Annie Lennox and sex.
But, I DO need to defend the Cayenne! I had the same opinion early on (bad bad Porsche for introducing an SUV!). But we LOVE it! It’s become the everyday ‘run to the mall or mini-mart and NYC’ car. IF you HAVE to have one, why not make it a Porsche!
We considered the Tourag, but for the few bucks more – the interior, the sound system, etc. it really is the nicer of the two. Seriously, it’s a great car.

PS: Mahmood, keep the 911 and buy the Cayenne anyway!

Re(2): I’m confused …
Hell there isn’t any pressue nore do I need the money. I’m fed up of it and it’s time to change is all. I hardly drive it any more. It’s got the solar battery charger plugged in and maybe once every three months I actually go out in it. Time for someone else to enjoy it for a while.
Re: No!!! Don’t do it!!!
Sounds true, almost down to a T as to my current life, so why not just go ahead and do it?! The waiting list for the Cayennes is June 2005 delivery man, and I don’t think that most in line are housewives!
As to destroying the brand, I don’t think so, I think it really enhances it. They will sell more Cayennes, therefore generate more money, therefore stay healthy, therefore spend more on R&D, therefore better cars all around!
Oh, yes I *do* like Annie Lennox now and then!
Re: I may be middle-aged, but …
I don’t have space for both! If I just go out and buy the Cayenne now, I’ll have to leave the 911 outside the house on the street!
Tell me though, give us a review of the Cayenne from your point of view… please?
Re: … oh, THAT button.
I have learnt from experience that the only thing heavy graphics are good for is the (bit)bucket. Delaying page loading and bloating up the internet mostly for no reason. So I make it a rule in all of my sites NOT to use heavy graphics, and I found out that makes them a lot more effective!
Such (garage) problems …
… when I bought the 914 – that kicked the 911 out to the driveway, along with the Cayenne. Ha. Old vs New – I can replace the 911, but not the 914!
Here’s a guy with plenty of garage space! My hero!

He lives in Connecticut. Mind you, a few years ago his wife DID ask him to choose (between his cars and her). Guess who won! 🙂 Fun chit chat today ~ thanks!
