Bahrain is the freest economy in Mideast

Bahrain is the “most free economy in the Arab region, according to the Heritage Foundation/Wall Street Journal 2005 Index of Economic Freedom.

Ranked 20th in the list of most free economies in the world, Bahrain “features many of the characteristics that mark a prosperous economy: low inflation, strong property rights, low regulation and low barriers to foreign investment, among other factors, said a statement accompanying the release of the annual global survey yesterday.
