Top sports cars take part in drag race at BIC

THE ultimate in top of the line street legal sports cars took part in a quarter mile drag race at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) yesterday on the first of a two-day motoring event organised by the owner’s club, Speed Trip.

The day also featured an autocross, in which participants were penalised two seconds for displacing a cone, in keeping with international standards.

The results of both competitions will be made available today.

The event, co-organised by the Saudi Automobile Association (SATA), continues today with the Sprint Challenge race, at the same venue. It features some stunning examples of the finest in automotive technology belonging to motor sports aficionados and Speed Trip members from Jeddah, Riyadh, the Eastern Province, Kuwait and Bahrain, in their Porsches, Ferraris, BMWs, and Nissan 350Zs.
