Motorcycle Club Hosts Second off-road Race

The Bahrain Motorcycle Club hosted its second off-road motorcycle race on Friday 11th February 2005 off Shaikh Isa Highway. Almost 1000 spectators came and left throughout the afternoon at this purpose built track.

Eight motorcyclists participated in this second official race in Bahrain with Munthir Abdulla riding a 450 Honda CRF winning, proving his skill and stamina Second position was Mohammed Al Khunaizi riding a Kawasaki 250 and KTM 250 and new-comer Yousif Karimi riding a Yamaha 250 YZF secured podium position in third place. Cash prizes were distributed by Isa Al Awadhi, Bahrain Motorcycle Club President.

‘We were all very pleased with the level of skill on display and we finished the event on time. Each rider had to compete in three races each race being six laps of this 1km track. The race is physically demanding not only due to the windy weather conditions but to control the bike over the jumps is not an easy task’ said Race Director, Samer Al Arayed.
