Profile of blog readers

This is interesting, BlogAds have just finished the second online blog reader survey for blog advertising and the findings are quite interesting:

Last year, we got 17,159 responses. This year, 30,079 blog readers responded.

Last year, 61% of responding blog readers were over 30 years old. This year, 75% are over 30 years old.

Last year, 40% had family incomes greater than $90,000. This year, 43% exceed that figure.

Year over year, some figures are remarkably stable. One reader in five is a blogger. As was the case last year, exactly 1.7% are CEOs. Almost the same number (44%) spend more than $500 for air tickets. 86% purchased music online, last year and this. Last year, 79% were men. This year, 75% are men.

The most interesting news comes in section 8…

Extremely Interesting, didn’t participate. But allows a person to look at the stats & see where one fits into the general demographics of the Blogosphere.

Thanks for posting this. I’m surprised at the number of Democrats among those who visit blogs since most of the blogs making the running in the States at least are on the right.

I wonder what a similar survey of visitors to Mahmood’s Den would reveal?

    Re: Profile of blog readers

That would definitely be interesting.. running that sort of survey here. I find that (maybe as in most blogs) people tent to read rather than comment, unless compelled to by a strongly held view. But as to the political leanings and which strata of society my readers are from… that too would certainly be very interesting.
