Hey Mahmood, actually I was seriously thinkin of opening a flickr account for many reasons. One of them is to highlight my travels (where I’m studyin and where am goin), but most importantly, I’ll use it to highlight Bahrain, be it from pics from towns to cities to the major projects goin on. Am promoting Bahrain in an international forum on buildings and architecture (been there for just about 3 years) and we’ve managed to open a Bahrain section with all the major projects included with frequent updates as they come, so havin a dedicated album for those would serve the purpose. Also I’ve noticed and am sure many have that when it comes to pics of Bahrain on the internet, they’re very rare to find, especially when it comes to very recent ones. The ones you typically get are 5 years and older, some goin back to the early 80’s.
Also what I really want to do anyways when I go back in the summer, is do a village tour in the country and snap a lot of pics that a lot of people don’t get to see (especially those hidden historic sites), followed later on with pics of the capital. Basically, and in a way to juxtapose the old with the new.
I’ve got many things on my mind at the moment, but when I remember them, I’ll post them here.
I just want to promote Bahrain more basically through different eyes (your doin a superb job at that) to highlight areas where local tradition meets with today’s modern world.

I was going to make a sob story for myself, protraying myself to be a struggling uni studnet. But i’ve decided that that would be selfish becuase I don’t need a FlickrPro account. For the fact that I want to better my photograhy skills. Being that I have none. I want a place where all of my pictures taken could be seen all over the world. I have a little camera. A Casio Exilim EX-Z40, it has cool features. But none of which I know how to uses properly. It would be honored to receive this online storage of all the pictures I take in the process of strengthening my photgraphy skills.
I like anything and everything not American. Be it the people, cultrue and language. At some time in my life, I would like to be an Ambassador. I study a lot about different cultures on my own. At the current moment, I’m learning Islam and the culture of the Middle East. The Houston Public Library has been my close friend for the past months. I’ve seen the most beautiful pictures that I have seen in books and movies of India and the Middle East. I like to look at your Flickr pictures to get a sence of what people look like in Bahrain and their daily life’s. I would like to do the same with the American people, even though they are not that attractive. I just would like to give back, what you have given me. Pleasant pictures.

Hi again, let me add cause I forgot to write it up there that after the F1 race in Bahrain, a lot of people approached me here from tons of countries (be it Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Americans, etc.) askin to know more about Bahrain and I’ve already built up a contact list and I promised that whem am back home, I’ll snap tons of pics to show them the place, cause many complained that there ain’t much on the net about Bahrain, especially pics which speak a thousand words. This should integrate well into my “Bahrain Plan” as I’d like to call it.

Once i googled for pics from bahrain, all i got were 1970s pics taken by expats. Hehehe obviously i’m soo feeling homesick at the mo. yallah and i don’t mind donating a “2 Gb bandwidth per month for a year” domain hosting if the winner meets this criteria and wants a website 🙂

This after 1 day after I purchased my OWN Flickr Pro account! I don’t need it anymore, I will even have my own 2 accounts to give away. However, I cannot offer them to this group, since I am master of another group (Experimento Bolivia) much similar to the one you have.
However thankful I am to receive the second year free, I cannot help but think we are subsidizing someone else’s first year! So…..whomever you chose, Mahmood, has to be someone who will do a LOT of good things for “The Bahranian Experience”, instead of just posting “pictures of me, me and me”….although…..come to think of it….if that ME is a handsome dude, I would not mind giving him one of my free accounts! That is EXACTLY how I ended up a daily reader of this blog. When they told us we were headed for Bahrain, I am ashamed to say, the only thing I knew about it is that it was a tiny island somewhere in the Middle East (blushing here….). I did a search for Bahrain pictures on the internet to show my kids their future home, and VOILA! Mahmood’s Den came out first. His site was THE ONLY place I was able to see pictures of Bahrain back then. Now there are many more sites, but Mahmood has my faithfulness cuz he was there when we needed him most!
