BIC Growing In The Right Direction

The Bahrain International Circuit is taking bold steps into shaping its future as ‘The Home of Motorsports in the Middle East’ and the centre point for corporate and private functions.

The list of events vary from motorsporting activities, corporate meetings and charity functions.

The circuit was busy over the past weekend witnessing a drag test and tune on Thursday (April 28), and a general track day as well as the Thunder Arabia launch on Friday (April 29).

The test and tune was conducted by the Bahrain Drag Racing Club. Over 1,000 people attended the event while 60 drivers revved up their engines to qualify for the third round of the National Drag Racing Championship to be held on May 19.

As for the general track day, Porsche club invited its members to a fun day of track racing as Thunder Arabia launched its new series, the Formula Zip. The Series will kick off at the circuit in September and will see an ensemble of professional and rookie drivers taking centre stage.

“Bahrain and the Gulf have welcomed the changing scenery of motorsports and the business sector is starting to pitch in. We have companies that are running their own series such as the Mini Coppers Challenge and the Bapco Sponsored BIC Caterham Gulf Se7en Championship due in September, he said.
