Shall we change the venue of the bloggers meetup?

The next bloggers meetup is coming on July 7th, I hope that we can grow our meeting more than the usual suspects. Therefore I was thinking that we might want to change the venue as because of the presence of alcohol others might feel uncomfortable joining us there.

May I suggest therefore somewhere like Starbucks in Budaiya, Spinney’s coffee shop or somewhere like that?

All suggestions welcome.

    Don’t bother!
I’m a blogger and wish NOT to sit with a bunch of alcohol drinkers, especially those who’re suppose to be Muslims.

You’re a tolerant one aren’t you? What is your blogs web address again. Didn’t catch it in your post. What about if your not a Muslim and a blogger in Bahrain. Is it a BYOB affair?

Hey, are you going to Vlog some portions of the meet up? That would be interesting!

Anon, not all of us are drinkers. So I hope you might reconsider and join us for the meetup, so that you can learn that our identities are made up of much more than the decision to drink or not. Hope to see you soon.

That is not the point. I don’t care where the meetup is at. No one is forcing anyone to do anything he or she doesn’t want to do. The issue is the original poster’s comment: “those who’re suppose to be Muslims”. At what point to you stop “bending” to accommodate people? What if a few are Mormons? Well, Starbucks is out then… No one should care if someone has a cold brew or a cup of Mocha Caffe Vanilla Swirl Latte. Or worse how about those who “don’t want to sit or be seen with non Muslims”. Better yet Chan’ad about “non Arabs”. Opps he’s “Shi” or She’s a “Sunni” so I can’t be there. As long as no one is making an ASS out of themselves live at let live.

Thank you for displaying to the world what a hypocrite you are. I myself am extremely grateful for not meeting someone as backward and judgmental as you. So as far as I’m concerned, find that rock you climbed from under, and return to that hole forthwith.

Chan’ad you’re a good guy. Someone just takes a dump on your head and you ask him nicely if he would please allow you to wipe his ass? Stuff him. We don’t want him in our group. He can wallow in his pigsty for the rest of his life.

now that’s an idea! and if it’s not too late, we can go back to the Country Club and get sloshed! Turban wearing bloggers are not welcome! 😉

    Hi,
Starbucks Budaiya is definately better than Spinneys, but wouldn’t a place in Manama be more accessible to most people? Especially if they have other things to do in town before or after the meet.

A blogger is some one who runs or participates in a weblog(blog). Yes, you can learn. I just started my own two days ago. Trial and error.

OK so we still haven’t gotten anywhere…

I’m up for changing the venue if we’re actually accommodating people who want to come.. Can we get a virtual head count of whomever wants to come?
