I just saw an advert for tonight’s news and guess what they’re promoting? Great idea =).
Update: Apparently Telstra, the govt-owned telco, has gotten behind it. Cool.

This is a great idea. We just had a tragic case here where a person on a bicycle was hit and critically injured and the victim had no form of ID on him. It took the police a good while I understand to find out who he was. They police wound up calling various people on his cell phone till they located someone who recognized the victim. With the ICE idea in place things would have been much smoother and with a little prior planning life saving information can be made available in these critical moments.
