Insects can be messengers from the Creator. When they land on us and bite us, it is to remind us of some duty we have neglected. When they land on us and do not bite us, it is to remind us that we should be thankful for the blessings we have. I have started reading your holy book the Qur’an and I think I read that in there, but don’t quote me. Jack

Dragonfly on my fingertip
When I used to live in Labrador (northern Canada) those suckers would get about 8-10 inches long. It was something to see – there were so many mosquitoes and black flies up there that these things grew to massive sizes simply to balance things out. They were like low flying birds.
so how often do you “extend your finger” into open space just for the sake of it?!

Re(2): Dragonfly on my fingertip
ah, that’s when there is something interesting I want to touch, feel, or just to provide a temporary perch for a nice creature. at other times to express a particular feeling like rage for instance. very dextrous things fingers are!

Mahmood, does your garden have any water features ? It would attract all sorts of creatures… (Chlorinated swimming pool doesnt count)

Re: Dragonfly on my fingertip
Funny you should ask… I’ve been seriously thinking of it! I need to look into it a bit more and if we are to install a pond, it will have to be sometime in March next year when the weather allows.
