I agree with you too

The movie is brilliant and Jessica Alba made me watch Dark Angel although I don’t usually watch that kind of cheesy stuff. I even went to see the Fantastic Four because of her!!!

Re: Weekend viewing

My daughter Amna doesn’t like her. She said that “she is not an accomplished actress who depends more on her looks than her acting abilities.”

O

That was the shape of my mouth when I heard her say that, followed by:

but but but

this is when my wife Frances interrupted and told her eldest daughter that her “father doesn’t really care much for acting abilities of female artists other than their bodies and his over-active imagination gets the better of him.”

That was of course very insulting, as I *do* appreciate acting abilities of female artistes. Especially those of the likes of Jessica Alba, Ashley Judd, Keira Knightley, Evangeline Lilly, Salma Hayek, Milla Jovovich, Jodie Foster, Merisa Tomei, Nicole Kidman, Sophie Marceau, Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba and of course the unforgetable CZJ who all leave you in awe… err, of their abilities. Need I go on? Other than stating the fact that I’ve got a bolshy daughter who doesn’t appreciate the finer parts of art?

Well a quick scan of her profile tells us this little fact. ”After graduating from high school, she studied with William H. Macy and his wife, Felicity Huffman, at David Mamet’s Atlantic Theater Company.

Now I don’t think you get to study with William H Macy and not become accomplished or have the chops to be an accomplished actor after the fact. We shouldn’t judge books or people by their covers!

I won’t hold that against Ms. Alba at all. She looks mighty fiiine! 🙂

A juvenile sfx-fest. The story was comic-book crass, the direction was
by the numbers and the acting was in no way special. Take away the
sfx and you’ve got nothing. Has Hollywood stopped making films for adults?

IIRC, this film was made in Austin, Texas. 🙂

You learn very quickly in this business that third-hand information is like no information at all. I’d go to the source and provide solid references to solidify my arguments. Hence, I shan’t go to Sheba nor anyone else but you to provide the proof that is direly needed to support your arguments. And as I do respect my sources, I won’t publish it unless you wish me to that is!

being from a gfx background, I don’t give a toss about the plot etc in this movie. As the images, sequences, cinematography and postproduction were all top notch, I enjoyed it immensly and it will continue to be on my “favourites” shelf for quite some time to come, together with 5th Element and others.
