Nominations open for the 2005 Mtv TWITBTHIFD Awards

As we’re now approaching the end of 2005, it is almost time to give out the Mtv TWITBTHIFD Awards, the first ever! I think to be fair to all nominees, we must wait to Jan 2006 to finalise the illustrious and very very lucky winner of this prestigious award.

For now until mid-December though, we are open to receive your nominees. The format is pretty simple, we need names, deeds and why you think your nominee should win.

When the judging period comes we’ll collect all nominees and announce the panel’s choice for this year’s award!

Now get cracking.. enter your nominations in comments on this post.

May the best (or worst?) win! 😉

Are nominations open to ANYONE or do they have to be Bahraini based? I know of a past Mtv poster who some might want to nominate for this most prestigious award.

Boy I have many, let me note them down here before I forget and I’m sure I’ll keep adding to the list:

    1. Jassim Al-Saidi – claim to fame is using parliament as a pulpit and continuous unhindered brain-fart production factory.

    2. Mohammed Khalid – sectarianism galore and pretends to be passionate about emotive issues. actually main reason for beard is to hide his under-bite jaw.

    3. Sameer Al-Shuwaikh – the guy I voted for and I am truly sorry that I did, I profusely apologise to my fellow Bahraini citizens for this major slip – claims to fame: convicted criminal while sitting in parliament, first MP to have parliamentary immunity lifted, another cheque bounce, main actual contribution is begging and getting a bus for Barbar athletic from the prime minister’s court.

    4. Major General Bigfoot Harry Al-Dhahrani – can’t organise a piss-up in a brewery but installed as speaker simply because he served in that other parliament then misspent youth in the appointed shura council kissing derrières. Made it into an art form.

    5. Kareemo, the Wefaqi municipal council member for the Greater Muharraq Island for trying to ban mannequins from lingerie shop windows because (says he) boys were having boners watching them and harassing passing girls because of these lusciously clad pieces of plastic (some with nipples!)

    6. Majeedo, the Wefaqi northern municipal councilor who banned washing lines from building balconies, especially oversized and yellowed nickers.

    7. Shaikh Ali Salman, the president of Al-Wefaq “Party” who publicly said that all board decisions that contradict Shaikh Qasem’s are null and void and Shaikh Qasem’s decisions take precedence. Why then have a political party and why have a board of directors then if he defers all decisions to the much respected Shaikh Isa Qassem then?

these are all on top of my head and could contain errors which I shall correct if discovered. this is just my notepad at the moment so I don’t forget things…

I lobby for it to be KAREEMO. The others (so far on the list) all seem to have at least done a bit of pandering to their voters and base. Be it a bus, cleaning up “unsightly” laundry, a world class ass kisser, even the brain farts from Deputy Dawg and Khalid could be argued might have some meaning IF there were not more important pressing matters. So what if someone bounces a check! Hell it can happen to anyone. Just ask half the US House of Representatives how many they kited a few years back.

But the mannequin issue from the wannabe rapper/basketball player KAREEMO is just too much. It shows the ultimate in TWITBTHIFD logic. The need to control your mind down to the smallest thought. “Damn the hormones he says!” “Someone might see a plastic TIT!” In my eyes he should be the front-runner. At least out of the ones you listed.

If not Kareemo or one of the other then how about that tart Malik??? DIB just let him have it with BOTH barrles. http://desertislandboy.blogs.com/ Or that turd Alex Salde (sp?) Remember him?

Of course. I’ve read it at least twice in Al-Wasat as I’m sure many others have. I’ll search for it and put up a direct link.

    Mahmood,

Would you please refer us to a recorded or even written material from a trustworthy source, which proves what you accused Ali Salman of?!

I nominate his majesty the king for appointing a government, of which 50% from within his own family and of course for all his other great reforms and good deeds.
