Bahrain swung into pole position today following an announcement that the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) would officially kick off the 2006 FIA Formula One World Championship season.

Congrats Bahrain! Can yo imagine how many pairs of eyes will be glued on that event, it being the very first in the season?
This now officially means that the BIC has paid back every fils it got and then some, in terms of advertising for the country at least.

The website notwithstanding, which I agree totally with you that it should be much better than what it is at today, the news release I linked to above was actually received FROM the BIC!
I guess what you are trying to say is for the BIC to place better emphasis on their own website which is fair.

Yeah lets have MJ and Queen + Paul Rodgers (the comback band of the year) Live at the F1 event, now that would probably grab more attention worldwide than the race itself… 🙂

What! – MJ stepping out into Bahrains wonderfull sunshine? – go for it Michael – seems that the royals have been kind enough to him – now would it not be nice if his first live concert in an eon was to be at the BIC at the end of a days racing – to be televised globally……. all the TV kit and Sat links are in place……… mmmmmm
Publicity for both parties would be beneficial – specially if the proceeds were to be targeted at the disaster in Pakistan……

It seems that the BIC does not know anything about this trivial bit of news. Their website has no mention about it what so ever.
I’m sure they will get cought by surprise soon enough.
