In Bahrain we’ll be holidaying it up but good… for the National Day holidays businesses and government will be closed from Thursday Dec 15 through Dec 18, Jan 1st of course is a holiday, and then Eid Al-Ad’ha is coming up around Jan 10th, then the Hijri new year on Jan 31st.
Here’s the rest of the Muslim holidays from 2002 – 2008 (thanks Sangeetha), but you have to add Ashura in Bahrain with holidays on the 9th and 10th days of Muharram as well.

NOTE: All holidays begin at sundown on the evening before the date given. The Islamic calendar is based on lunar observation; thus, the above dates may vary by one or two days.
Happy holidays!

Oh, and don’t have high hopes of the next Eid Al-Adha is actually going to fall on Dec 31, 2006. There is no cat’s chance in hell that would happen, it just will not be allowed, Eid and those Christians and the rest of the world partying it up for their New Year? No friggen chance!

this year 2005 Eid-al-fitr was on the same day as the Hindu Diwali, and for the fanatics among us I guess sharing Eid / Diwali together would perhaps be more unthinkable, but then I guess the cosmic master above all of us makes us come together at his/her (being gender neutral :-)) whim and fancy. So yeah if the lord wishes we may have Eid al Adha on Dec 31 2006, lets not bet against that.
