Controversial Muslim cleric Abu Hamza al-Masri has been jailed for seven years after being found guilty of inciting murder and race hate.
Abu Hamza, 47, who preached at Finsbury Park Mosque, London, was convicted of 11 of the 15 charges he faced.
BBC News
Good riddance. This terrorist should not have been allowed anywhere near the free world.
Had he been left in Egypt where he belongs, people would have drenched his grave in piss on a daily basis. But in Europe, and in the UK in particular, he was given the chance to be respected!
Now Uncle Sam wants him, but he can’t be released until he’s completed his sentence in the UK. I say let him loose, let him be free, but in Iraq’s Sadr City where they’ll really teach him about preachin’!

Well done!! Abu Hamza is a classic example of someone who exploited the free speech laws of a country, who not only provided him with welfare assistance but let him essentially call for that same country’s destruction. Quite a paradox.
Its unfortunately that there will be those who will try to spin his conviction into another “western attack on islam.”
It begs the question- where were the islamists’ voices when Hamza portrayed their faith in the worst possible light?
I ask you to consider the following- if the prophet (pbuh) were alive today, would he have commanded his followers to take part in the wanton destruction occuring now against the Danes? Would he have condoned the hatred spreading of Hamza?
I believe if one answers these questions honestly they will see a fundamental flaw in all of this.

I believe a few people in the Yemen want a word with him as well, and it doesn’t take much to work out that he’s probably much better off in jail in the UK than if he was in the hands of the Yemeni security services.
Hook’s been sent inside
Why does Yemen want him?
Yemen just had a major prison break. Seems some prisoners dug a nice long tunnel to a Mosque right under the noses of the Yemeni Security services.

The guy looks like a harmless pirate to me. I thought no one really took him seriously to begin with, his rants make him come off as mentally deranged bore who’s in dire need of attention. He’s amusing to listen to, I’ll give him that much. He should’ve just given us a disclaimer saying that his lectures are completely satirical and he’d be okay with me. No one would try to shut him up this way, either.

Hahahaha this guy is really a joke, i cant believe people actually listened to him. My favorite quote of all times is :
Abu Hamza has claimed that the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster was a sign from God. He said:
“These missions would increase the number of satellites for military purposes. It would increase the slavery of governance of other countries by America. It is a punishment from God. Muslims see it that way. It is a trinity of evil because it carried Americans, an Israeli and a Hindu, a trinity of evil against Islam. The fact that the motor of the craft fell on Palestine – all these are messages from God. It is a strong message, for the Israeli, to be taken up there to space and he spoke about the Holocaust, to try to make religious advancement from it and gain some moral high ground, hence you have seen this message over Palestine.”
message from God..Yes, yes, i bet his arrest is a message from God too, yea? Lets interpret the message this time, that twisted freaks like him deserve to be thrown rocks at?
On 7 February 2006, Abu Hamza was found:
Guilty of 6 charges of soliciting to murder
Guilty of 3 charges related to “stirring up racial hatred”
Guilty of 1 charge of owning recordings related to “stirring up racial hatred”
Guilty of 1 charge of possessing “terrorist encyclopaedia”
Not guilty of 3 charges of soliciting to murder
Not guilty of 1 charge related to “stirring up racial hatred”
terrorist encyclopedia? hahahaha okay this is supid now.
I dont understand, since when has Islam become a religion of killing, hatred and death. I have read this dude’s speaches they can be summarized in one line: “kill and hate anything that isnt muslim”. Why? because they are “evil”. To tell u the truth he is what i consider “evil”. I bet he is payed by america or something, to trash the image of islam because i dont think anyone would do it for free.

It wasn’t just funny, it was hilarious. To think that those idiots blow themselves and dozens of innocent people up hoping to get rivers of alcohol and scores of virgins… Somehow I doubt that their acts will be thus rewarded.

Re(2): Hook’s been sent inside
Maybe it should have been drawn in a more Islamic way – showing a circle of flames instead of Muhammad’s face, as I have seen him and his wives depicted in many representations by Muslim artists. In fact, the cartoonist could have taken a look into how Islam’s own history of art has circumvented the ban against idolatry. Then, even a Muslim reader would probably have been able to take the anti-terrorist message instead of getting angry at the blasphemy.
Re(2): Hook’s been sent inside
“Somehow I doubt that their acts will be thus rewarded.”
No, those acts of violence wouldn’t be rewarded, but that doesn’t give you the right to insult our religion further by cluelessly mocking what will be offered in our version ‘paradise.
Re(3): Hook’s been sent inside
Let’s not get too emotional, our version of Paradise is common knowledge by now and our sexual proclivities are unmatched:

This is a bit off the subject, but can be related to this idiot’s 7 years sentencing. . . .but giving the airport demonstrators 2 years in jail is a bit harsh, especially on the eve of Ashoora (I’m technically a sunni, but not religious, and I see myself as a human being before anything else, so my comments are not religiously or politically motivated).
Its about time action was taken by the authorities to show the people that the rule of law does exist. In the case of captain cook over here, he shouldn’t have incited all the hatred that directly or indirectly led to anyone’s death. The same goes to people who disturb the peace (especially in an airport). With the idiocy of whats going on with the Danish boycott (and violent protests), I do believe someone needs to take a stand and shut everyone up. Ofcourse, its the governments that need to do this, for I’m sure that any moderates out there are outnumbered and would feel the wrath of the community if they spoke out publicly (any westerners out there, its easy for you to say ‘take a stand’ and blah blah blah, but if you haven’t been to the middle east, its not as easy as you make it seem. You can’t argue on the context of common sense.)
As far as I see the Danish quagmire, its pretty simple. The newspaper has the right to publish any artwork that shows the artist’s perception Islam or it’s messenger. It is an opinion and nothing more. Although irresponsible, it is their right. However, all people offended are reserved the right to boycott any product they want. Call it consumer preference. Burning the danish flag (or embassies) is embarrasing, especially over a few cartoons. Iran’s competition over the holocaust is irresponsible as well and has nothing to do with freedom of speech, which is quite ironic because if they allowed their citizens to say whatever they wanted, the first target would be the government and not an incident that brought the slaughter of millions of innocent lives.
ps. I thought that the cartoon about the ‘please stop! we’re running out of virgins’ was quite funny.

I was wondering what exactly Mr. Mahmood ment wen he wishes this atranged would -be Kafir or Great Leader for the yet moderate Muslim West (like so many imams overhere are subconscieus applyiing and gaining power over ignorant people, like all tyrannie have starting points in masspoverty, utter suffering & misery, abandoning by the ‘ones in charge’ and always have some ‘plague of injustice’ from the past to the present done to them, their honour and theire land & faith , yes of course faith is stronger than blood etc.
What if this lunatic was set free in Sadr City of Iraq.. would he be at the mercy of yet another pack of killing wolves ? Wil it ever stop, i like to ask, the circle of revenge and counter attack ? Is their any law usefull and capable to do so ? Or won’t this unholy thurst for blood never stop by the hand of learned scholars & faithfull masses of the great faith of Islam ?
Thank you,

Re(4): Hook’s been sent inside
Ah, so it’s right to laugh and think “look at what these people are living their lives for?”
Cartoon fever manipulated
Radical Danish imams made two visits to the Middle East in December and January to complain
about the 12 cartoons to political and religious leaders.
The cartoons, first published in a Danish newspaper in September, show the Muslim Prophet
Muhammad in a variety of humorous or satirical situations. They include images of the Prophet
carrying a lit bomb on his head and brandishing a sword.
One of the clerics, Ahmed Akari, told the BBC the imams carried three extra caricatures of
Muhammad that were far more inflammatory than the original 12, and were drawn by
Islamic extremists, Mr Akari said the imams had added them to their dossier to demonstrate
the kind of attitudes that Muslims were facing in Denmark.
He insisted they were not intended to aggravate reaction in the Middle East.

Re: Hook’s been sent inside
Well, sport, the hook-handed mullah is not the only mullah spewing the line that everything non-Muslim is evil. That is the standard Wahhabi doctrine being spread around the world by the Saudis. In the Saudi’s view, anything other than Wahhabi Islam is non-Muslim. For those of you living in a phone booth the last couple decades, the Wahhibis have been embarked on a world-wide head-cutting, suicide-bombing, suicide jet into the skyscraper murder spree to clear the world of non-Muslims.
I suppose it makes perfect sense to the dumbest Muslims that their most evil imams are really American agents, right? The only surprising thing about such numbskullery is that you didn’t claim they were rabbis.

Re(3): Hook’s been sent inside
September 11 gave us the right and 2986 reasons to insult Islam, which is a depraved and bloodthirsty creed which seeks to rule the world through violence. It’s not hard to mock your idea of paradise when your own clerics indoctrinate your clueless kids that the way to get laid is to blow themselves up in a crowd of infidels.
If you want your religion to command our respect, it must first respect us. Islam preaches contempt for non-Muslims and so earns contempt in return.
Steve
Re(4): Hook’s been sent inside
These aren’t “reasons,” Steve, they are “excuses.” Hate Muslim extremists, but don’t hate the religion itself. It does not justify or even promote this aggressive and useless behavior, it makes the rest of us shudder with embarrassment. Islam gives us the right to defend ourselves and our faith, it does NOT, however, give us the right to kill innocent people in the name of Allah.
The Koran implies that those of other religions deserve our respect. It does not state the fact that we should hate them merely because we consider them infidels. Terrorists have a warped interpretation of Islam. Don’t let them convince you of something that isn’t there.
If you’re allowing these clowny clerics and rebellious children to influence your opinion on Islam (and not just “Muslims”) then that says a lot about your mentality. Are you admitting the fact that you can’t think for yourself, that you have to depend on how others choose to follow this religion in order to form an opinion about what the religion actually implies?
Suarah 2:62 says:
“Verily they that believe and those of Jewry and the Christians and those Sabaeans, whoso believes in God and the Last Day, and do what is right, their rewards await them with their Lord, and fear shall not come upon them, neither shall they be grieved.”
Further proof of the fact that you are very wrong in your assumption that Islam preaches contempt for non-Muslims.
In the following, freedom of religion is emphasized by a negative declaration:
Surah 2:256 says:
“There shall be no coercion in matter of faith (religion). True guidance is now distinct from error. He that renounces the power of evil (error) and puts his faith in God, shall grasp a firm handle that is unbreakable. God hears all and knows all.”
Whether you believe in or deny the new message is entirely up to you, and that proves your assumption (that Islam is a religion which seeks to rule the world through violence) wrong, yet again. The Truth has come from our lord to our prophet Mohammed, and when the message was delivered God had said that “let, then, him who will believe in it; and let him who will, reject it…” and this DOES have consequences, but the consequences have exceptions, too. God is very merciful and accepting.
Basically, what was mentioned in these Surahs go against what the terrorists are doing, so they are calling it ‘Islam’ even though it’s really just ignorance and sheer stupidity. It goes against everything that Islam stands for. So, please don’t assume it’s Islam and not just the actions of a few whose only justification to what they’re doing is that it’s “Islam.”
Re(5): Hook’s been sent inside
Anon: “These aren’t “reasons,” Steve, they are “excuses.” “
You’re quite wrong. When Muslims come to your country and slaughter thousands of innocent people to spread their religion, that is indeed a legitimate cause for contempt.
Anon: “Hate Muslim extremists, but don’t hate the religion itself. It does not justify or even promote this aggressive and useless behavior, it makes the rest of us shudder with embarrassment. Islam gives us the right to defend ourselves and our faith, it does NOT, however, give us the right to kill innocent people in the name of Allah.”
I disagree. As I have written elsewhere, the requirement for self-defense is but a small speed bump for Muslims who can easily find reasons to justify any atrocity as self-defense. For example, Al Qaeda, which has been immensely popular across great swathes of the Muslim world, states that they have the right to kill any American who pays taxes because some of those taxes support Israel which threatens the Muslim world, et voila, vaporizing some office worker in the World Trade Center is a legitimate act of self defense in Muslim eyes. The Muslims are full of phoney grievances. Justification for any blood-letting is easily concocted. For example, when America defended Saudi Arabia against Iraq in the first Gulf War, Bin Laden and most Saudis considered that an assault on Islam, even though we saved their miserable lives.
I’d be inclined to believe that Muslims shuddered with embarassment at Islamic terror were it not for the general celebration by Muslims the world around at the news of American deaths on Sep 11. I read a couple weeks ago that Muslims in Berlin fired off home-made bottle rockets to celebrate. Every time I hear somebody from the Middle East talk about Sep 11, they make a token objection to the act followed by a BUT in which they claim it was just and deserved. And of course, there is an enormous amount of evidence of exuberation in the Arab press.
Anon: “The Koran implies that those of other religions deserve our respect. It does not state the fact that we should hate them merely because we consider them infidels. Terrorists have a warped interpretation of Islam. Don’t let them convince you of something that isn’t there.”
If Islam respected other religions, Islamic law would not mandate second-class status for members of other religions. You might also explain why, if Muslims respect other religions, the bulk of the population of other religions have left most Muslim countries. Virtually all the Muslim world in the Middle East and north Africa were originally Christian countries. Now that Christian population is gone except for a tiny remainder. Did they leave because the Muslims gave them too much respect?
If Islam respected other religions, Muslims nations would not impose the death penalty upon Muslims who convert to another religion.
Anon: “If you’re allowing these clowny clerics and rebellious children to influence your opinion on Islam (and not just “Muslims”) then that says a lot about your mentality. Further proof of the fact that you are very wrong in your assumption that Islam preaches contempt for non-Muslims. .”
“Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home: an evil fate.” Koran 4:76
Explain to me how that verse in the Koran does not preach contempt for non-Muslims.
According to Muslim scholarship, verses of the Koran which were revealed later cancel out earlier verses. It’s called the doctrine of abrogation, naskh. Most Muslim scholars say that the ninth sura, containing the Verse of the Sword, was the last section of the Koran to be revealed, which means it abrogates all previous verses. Some Islamic theologians say the Verse of the Sword abrogates 124 peaceful and tolerant verses that came before it, like the one you cite.
The Verse of the Sword commands Muslims to “…slay the idolaters [ie non-Muslims] where ever you find them, and take them captive, and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush.” This is one of the paramount verses in the Koran and quite clearly preaches hostility to non-Muslims.
My opinion of Islam comes from what the Koran says and what Muslims do. That has led me to lose respect for both.
Anon: “In the following, freedom of religion is emphasized by a negative declaration:
Surah 2:256 says:
“There shall be no coercion in matter of faith (religion). True guidance is now distinct from error. He that renounces the power of evil (error) and puts his faith in God, shall grasp a firm handle that is unbreakable. God hears all and knows all.”
Mohammed clearly states many times that Muslims should give non-Muslims three choices when attacking them: 1) Demand they convert to Islam; 2) Demand they accept a second-class status as a dhimmi; or 3) kill them. That is a coercive set of demands. As it happenned, most of those who accepted dhimmitude eventually converted just to escape abuse and the poll tax by Muslims, ie coercion.
Anon: “Whether you believe in or deny the new message is entirely up to you, and that proves your assumption (that Islam is a religion which seeks to rule the world through violence) wrong, yet again. The Truth has come from our lord to our prophet Mohammed, and when the message was delivered God had said that “let, then, him who will believe in it; and let him who will, reject it…” and this DOES have consequences, but the consequences have exceptions, too. God is very merciful and accepting.”
“Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” Koran 9:29
In that verse, the Koran clearly commands Muslims to fight all other religions.
“And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah.” Koran 2:190-193
That verse sets the war goal for Muslims as domination of Islam everywhere. Since Muslims have acted on these verses from the Koran to make war on the world, I tend to believe them.
Anon: “Basically, what was mentioned in these Surahs go against what the terrorists are doing, so they are calling it ‘Islam’ even though it’s really just ignorance and sheer stupidity. It goes against everything that Islam stands for. So, please don’t assume it’s Islam and not just the actions of a few whose only justification to what they’re doing is that it’s “Islam.”
We agree that the Islamic terrorists act out of ignorance and sheer stupidity. I might add they also act out of religious bigotry with a dash of racism. However, they are acting in accord with the Koran, which supports their terror against the world. You are only a decent person in your deviation from the Koran and its murderous intolerance.

Peter Fleur,
The fellow who killed van Gough was acting entirely on his own and was a very, very disturbed young man, whose disturbance took the rather common form of religious mania. Please bear that in mind. You do have some social problems in the NL that relate to Moroccans, for instance, but I think you’ll find that comes as much from having immigrants from the most extreme backward never-saw-a-faucet-before bits of the Rif as it is a religious problem. The Turks get on quite OK for the most part, don’t they? (For that matter, I’m quite fond of the Moroccan grocers in my friend’s ‘hood in The Hague. A lot of these immigrants *have* adapted successfully, you should remember.)
As for Imam Hook, I think there’s a very simple reason why he wasn’t arrested before. This fellow is clearly not himself a terrorist or capable of planning any sort of terrorist action, but I bet a lot of more dangerous fellows loved coming to his mosque–and have been guest stars on the Special Branch’s edition of Candid Camera for years now. The British have been dealing with terrorism for quite a few years now, I don’t think they can be called *soft* on the subject…
Antiquated Tory
