In order to raise good children, you must teach them right from wrong, and if they stray off the correct path, you have got to discipline them of course. But disciplinary actions obviously differ and should be proportionate. Discipline of course does not have to be physical; time-outs, going to bed earlier than usual, reducing allowances, etc are all valid measures.
But I wonder what prompted someone attacking a child with this brutality? Who is this savage criminal who beat this 6 year old child like this? And what was the crime that prompted this kind of beating?

The Crime: Daring to walk on Moustafa Lazrak’s prayer mat while he was praying!
How dare she? Couldn’t this so called child see a man in total devotion? In supplication to his God? Shame on her and on her family for not raising her right, and she deserved what she got!
Yeah sure…
I’m not sure how someone who is this criminal and this savage can even come close to associating himself to a religion of peace and tolerance!
Although I abhor violence, I find that I cannot stop my self from shaking with anger that if I was put in front of this motherless moron I would gladly beat him to a pulp. But as that chance is too far fetched, I do hope that his fellow clergy would not hesitate at throwing him out of their commune and make his expulsion a clear indication that they will not allow nor will they condone behaviour such as this from who should be leaders of their communities.
The state too should level the severest punishment under law against this animal and make sure that he never again be put in charge of, or be allowed near, children.
I hope this Moustafa Lazrak rots in hell.

From the looks of those bruises, it would seem she is lucky she wasn’t killed or suffering from serious long term damage. Got to be pretty wacky to be so full of yourself that you would do that to a child. Any punishment they give him won’t be nearly enough.
This is truly horrible. The poor little thing.
You know Mahmood, when I first came here and started teaching, I had many a parent tell me it was okay to beat their children. I couldn’t believe my ears. I immediately told them that I wouldn’t be beating their children, but you know, I don’t think they got it.
any one done that to my child
i would hold them down and pull their eyes out makes me sick to the stomach
Similar to the abuse of children at the hands of some clergymen in the Catholic church. Losers and sickos from all faiths who become men of religion in order to exercise power.
Someone said that “faith is the path of least resistance;” I would add it is also one with the least barriers to entry! You don’t need to even be able to read and write to be counted as a “cleric,” heck, quite a lot of them are blind too. Yet, they are followed in single-minded fashion. No questions asked and no answers sought.
I wouldn’t be surprised if someone pipes up and says that this little girl actually received a “blessing” which she should cherish for the rest of her life. Sickening really.
Indeed sickening, if true, bizarre publication if you take a look though.
Please take a look at the whole site before you make a judgement!
With all due respect Mahmood, this article has been taken from the putrid pages of a site for, and frequented by, racists, bigots and Jews. French no less. Unless it can be substantiated by a credible source, I will assume the poor child fell off her bicyclette.
Sadferret
Just what do the “Jews” have to do with anything? You sound like Racist and bigot yourself with that comment.
Sadferrret
Read this and let it SOAK in. If possible.

Mahmood, I don’t know where exactly in the M.E. this happened, but I’m getting a different impression from the photo: could it be that she was singled out because of her appearance? She’s blonde and looks like a Westerner. We used to call folks in the Middle East who look like that: Crusaders’ Kids. Maybe this was what infuriated someone who scapegoated her. There are sometimes manifestations of tribalism in the region which could account for it.

I would assume by virtue of the fact that this article is here Mahmood believes that it is credible.
This picture fills me with disgust that is nearly overwhelming. One of the few and precious absolutes in my universe is that you nurture the children.
Is there any value in posting the peckerheads picture?
Button, this happened in Sidi Ahmed El Bekkal school, located in the Jbel Darssa district in Morocco. This is as far a trace I could find so far, and am open to be corrected. Most of the sites referring to this incident are anti-Islam (if you google Moustafa Lazrak. The reference directly from Morocco where i found the location was in a Moroccan forum (in French | translation.)
And no matter WHAT the origin of the little girl is, I would NOT find excuses for the criminal who did this to her “just because he thought she was a Crusader’s Kid” and effectively condone his action!
All I am saying is I would have to question content which is taken straight from the pages of what looks to be the site of the French version of the BNP. And most of the hateful, spiteful comments are, whether you like it or not, from Jewish people. I don’t think I’m a bigot or racist to state that. Will, it was no disrespect to Mahmood, can I state that categorically please.
If you click on the link directly below the picture please …
Yes I was worried about that too Sadferret, and concerned, but I investigated the incident as far as I could and the news itself was worth repeating and denouncing, not just to “show them that we condemn this incident too” but it is a truly horrific thing to have been done.
Goodness knows what that child’s view of religious people would be as she grows up, and how she would view the religion she has been born into.
Hopefully, by the good example of her family and community, she will realise that religious men are just humans, this particular one being a psychopath, and that child-beating is not endemic in Islam.
If I were this little girl, I would NOT grow up with any respect for the religion of this practicioner of such violence and lack of mental self control.
The religion in question is, you guessed it folks, once again and as always: ISLAM!
I question the intentions of the above writer.
Regardless of the religion, the problem is with the temper of that particular person. He is an example of many, in every society and followers of all faiths.
So let us not use it for devious propaganda against any faith.
In my opinion, this is nothing compared to other abuses; e.g. sexual abuse. Your country is notoriously known to torture the youngsters and political prisoners with all sort of methods. That is bad!
Surprisingly enough, the more they torture, the more they get promoted. I cannot name any at the moment, but I am sure you all know plenty.
If you are so keen in publicly denouncing such acts, you must start denouncing it at your home land, by naming and shaming anyone who does it, regardless of his/her rank and regardless if he is from the ruling family or not. Can you? I doubt it.
I assume you are referring to me as the above writer?
How can you question an entire religion because a few nutters purport to follow it .. I don’t see that we differ on this point, and as for devious propaganda .. you are beginning to sound paranoid.
I will, however, concede that devious propaganda is rife, from National Front websites to The Sun! With regard to the ruling family, Prince Harry is more than happy to be sexually abused by the lovely Chelsy. I am presently torturing my son to study for his GCSE’s, sometimes the end justifies the means, I pray he will be promoted.
I’ve just figured out the confusion here, Anonymous and Anonymous are two different people – that explains all the contradiction. Seems I’m not the “above writer”. Phew!
we were talking about this today at work… and do you know that most ppl believe her father did this to her and they haven’t even heard the story about the religious guy??!!
Mahmood, I applaud you for reminding your community they have standards to be accountable to. I did the same thing in a blog last year relating to the Catholic clerical abuse of children in Ireland (I was living in Ireland at the time and my husband was one of those abused.) I took hell from the priests and the bishop, but the people who read my blog were so happy to see a devout Catholic hold her leaders accountable to THEIR own teachings! Do the same and we will both find peace in our faith traditions. One Creator loves us all!
One tries. Hopefully we both will find some resonance.
