Where’s my mojo?

As you might understand, the last two weeks have been hectic; with my dear father passing away, our office move and Batelco’s incompetence in not supplying the internet connection to the office so far even after more than a week of applying for it – and offering various lame excuses – as well as finalising and submitting a bunch of tenders which required an inordinate amount of work, the last of which must be submitted in a couple of days, these are two weeks I would not want to wish on my enemies.

So forgive me for not being able to write or comment much… life has been a bit different.

There are however quite a number of things that I want to blog about when I do have the time: celebrating my dad’s life, and his death; cultural shocks I have been subjected to within my own community during the funereal rights; the Kuwaiti elections and their reflections on women’s fortunes in our own forthcoming fiesta; our governments’ shenanigans; brain dead political societies and polititians; selling oneself to gain election advantage as it seems to have happened to a guy called Hashim; the facetiousness of Al-Saidi who is being much more delusional than usual in believing that he not only can win the next elections, but can win it standing in the leader of Al-Wefaq’s home constituency; and various other thoughts.

Let’s see how many I can get to, once Batelco connects our lines that is….

In the mean time, I wish you all a peaceful existance.

Mahmood did you read of Adel Al-Mo’awdah re-election bid for Chairman of the council. Alwasat News reported that he will supposedly be running against Khalifa Al-Dhahrani and Sh. Salman bin Saqer Al-Khalifa. Khalifa Al-Dhahrani will also be running to be re-elected as Chairman. This should be interesting!

By the way, what is the BCCI small & medium businesses committee, of which you are a board member, up to these days? Any new ideas or programs on the agenda? Please keep us updated as to what is its future plans after you settle down in your new office and life returns back to normal Inshallah.

    Mahmood

I was sitting in the doctors office the other day and ran across an article on company blogs and I rememberd that a few months ago you mentioned the idea of you starting a company blog. Just curious about how that idea worked out for your company.

Also a friend of mine saw Mahmood.tv mentioned in a book at Barnes and Nobel. The book was something along the lines of “Best Blogs in the World” I can find out the exact title if you want.

Good luck Mahmoud. You’ve had a lot on your plate. I am looking forward to hearing more about your father’s life (and legacy) and his artistry. I was quite impressed with his painting that I saw on your office wall.
    All the best,
    Ingrid

    Hi Mahmood,

I have to admit, that after reading this mornings GDN, I’m looking forward to what you have to say regard the punch ups in the parliament and the iminent closure of ALBA, Gulf Air and Batelco (amongst others). It seems the government does not want any money to argue about spending!

    Hi Mahmood,

Curiosity killed that cat. What were the ” cultural shocks” you experienced during the funeral rights?

Sami, thanks, I couldn’t do justice to this subject. If you want to know more, the best place I get my news about Palestine is at Haitham Sabbah’s blog.

Hogan, yes we do pay the full published 512MB LIMITED Business package at BD102 per month.

Hulk it’s difficult to avoid the business internet subscription cos you have to give them the line number you want DSL on, and if it’s an office line they will charge business subscription.
