The votes counting operation appears to have begun in several centres. This shot is off the installed webcams in Ahmed Al-Umran school. For seeing the physical counting operation live in various centres, please click here.
Results will be announced on the official elections website at Vote4Bahrain.com, which, incidentally, is running Xaraya!
This is the second time that Bahrain depends on open source CMS for the elections website, the first was based on PostNuke, this one is based on Xaraya, both of which are the brainchildren of my friend John Cox and a collection of about 40 programmers from around the world, and once again, I am proud to have been associated with both projects.

I was happy to see Get Firefox banner on vote4bahrain.com 😉
Thank Hassan Al-Eid for that one (and the whole site actually, he’s the brains behind it.)
Well done bu Ali.
mahmood,
will you post the results when they’re out? i cant get through to their website anymore for some reason..
Mahmood,
I guess 6’erabta 3ain :p
Mahmood,
I created the site and handover to the guys to manage it! I wish I could do better then this … They are are doing good without me =D

Hasan Al-Eid
Welcome to the e-voting world!
Here’s what I get when try to access the site:
Hasan it’s excellent to have you visit us my friend! And regardless of who’s handling the site now, it’s very easy for me to see your fingerprints on it. Well done again, you have extended Xaraya beyond what the original designers hoped for I think, as far as use is concerned.
Hussain, that error message is a mark of the site’s success and it has nothing to do with Xaraya; it simply says that there are far too many people for the DATABASE to handle the load! If I remember correctly, in the 2002 elections, the site received over a million hits A DAY! I wonder what the stats are for this year, but I would bet a lot more than the last.
Mahmood,
I found this on cnn.com:
Do you think this is true?
