In FACT!

There is a new and exciting magazine in town and although still in its second issue, judging from the content so far, it is in a class on its own. It has been tackling subjects in its first two issues not pursued by others more established publications. It has a very fresh and young design and is backed up by a young and dynamic team.

This magazine is called FACT, which stands for Fashion, Art, Culture and Technology. It covers all of that, but the things that I really like about it is the investigative and comparative reports it carries as well as a comprehensive listing of happenings and a unique “brand finder” at the back.

FACT magazine

I make an appearance in it too! I’ve been invited to write a monthly column and I am glad to say that I have been given a (relatively!) free hand in ;). I decided to make it exclusive of the content I write on this blog to make that contribution unique.

Their site is still under construction but I hope that when they do get it up and running, they will make all their articles available online. I am sure that us bloggers would love to link to some of the content covered in FACT.

Well done Omar, Arran and crew for the breath of fresh air!

Despite my complete dis-trust in anything Bahraini, I’ll buy one issue on your recommendation. I sure hope its not like any other local publication. πŸ˜•

That’s a coincidence, I was in a coffee shop this evening and while waiting for my friend I picked up the August issue which was lying around. I immediately turned to the article about blogging (nice picture of you, Mahmood!) – and I saw my blog was recommended, so I like them already!

So now you’re a columnist, Mahmood – another title to add to your business card…

  4. so be it

hi Mahmood, too bad that this magazine cannot be read online or accessed in some other way. perhaps there is an international subscription available? i, on contrary to what your first comentator says, would love to read something Bahraini every once in a while. I’m also wondering if there is anything about Music in there.

Looking forward to read your articles .

Really good magazine. Less bland than most of the competition. Should have a wide audience. (Well, I’m quite wide!)

i read the first issue sometime last month, and the blogging article obviously caught my eye πŸ™‚ its a cool magazine. I saw this issue just yesterday and I noticed your name on the cover. Well done πŸ™‚

Can’t read it over here, but if Omar Shaheen is behind it, then it’s bound to be cool.

( not forgetting you of course, Mahmood ; 0) )

Should have a wide audience. (Well, IΓƒΒ’Γ’β€šΒ¬Γ’β€žΒ’m quite wide!)

    This is funny. Cheers. πŸ˜†

Good to see the country outpouring with this kind of creativity! Kudos to whoever’s responsible.

Looking forward to read it, and good luck with being a columnist. I am sure it will be a breeze for you being the extensive blogger you are.

I agree with Esra, in that many English language magazines have appeared in Bahrain lately. I particularly like “Bahrain Confidential”, “Co Eds” and “Oh La La” and from your description I am sure FACT will add to the list.

Whilst i agree that FACT should be commended for its article about blogging, it is worth mentioning that the subject was covered extensively in March of this year by another monthly magazine in Bahrain; the same magazine that regularly uses AND credits Bahraini photographers for their photos when sourced through flickr.

congratulations Mahmoud. You have to be a local celebrity by now if you weren’t already. It is a shame that they are not accessible online. In this day and age, it could certainly promote their magazine faster..(plus, how can we link to your magazine career if there isn’t anything to link to??)

    Ah, he’s back.

Okay bub, jealousy won’t get you anywhere fast. Get out there and make your own luck, or continue to wallow in your filth.

It’s all up to you and I couldn’t care less as to what your fate serves up to you.

    Well

I bought one and it’s actually quite good.
No I am serious, I expected the worst (think… Bahrain this month), but I found something with actual substance. Like a behaved, all family FHM!

    Kudos.
