Here’s a quick tour of my garden on New Year’s Day 2010 courtesy of my iPhone 3Gs 😉 Hope you’ve had a good start to the new year and hope that continues throughout!
Happy New Year my friends.
It is with a heavy heart that I bid farewell to the kindest dog I have ever known.
We were blessed to have known Gnasher for about 12 years. He passed away peacefully in my arms last Friday morning. I couldn’t announce it earlier because we wanted to tell our daughters first.
I shall always remember him with fondness, and don’t think that any other dog will ever fill the huge void he has left behind. We are all saddened by his passing, but really do appreciate the time he has spent with us.
Rest in peace my friend. I shall miss you.
The garden has been soaked with rain the past few days. The plants seem to be happy enough with it (didn’t switch off the irrigation yet, rain is still unpredictable) but the very best thing about having sustained rain like this is the thorough washing of all the plants. Now we can see the brilliant greens, reds, pinks and all the lovely textures.
I love this time of year!
Happy Friday my friends.
We came home from Rome early this morning to be greeted with this lovely thing by our front door:
In a space of week, it woke up and produced all of these lovely flowers. It’s quite unfortunate that my gardener decided arbitrarily to chop the thing while we were away last time. I’m nurturing it back with judicious pruning. Hopefully it’ll be okay in a couple of years.
