Muslims all over the world should rejoice! We are way ahead of the technology curve evidenced by some mullah in Malaysia ruling that a man can now divorce his wife by sending her an SMS message saying “I divorce you” three times! This is not the first time that the most populace Muslim country has ridden to the fore, they have previously penalized couples who held hands in public!
Thankfully the government revoked this “shariah” ruling a day after its announcement. What a shame that these people are given complete control over the whole Islamic Nation. Most of these mullah are ill-qualified to do their own jobs but simple people do listen to and head their advice without question. The image of Islam will only clear once we eradicate the influence of the few mullahs that have no education or knowledge of Islam and the modern world. They’re still ruling as if they’re in the 8th century or thereabouts.
Let’s look at one recent incident in Bahrain: a mosque caretaker habitually abused children he preyed upon. He’s not the only one. Authorities do know about them and people have lodged official complaints, but the authority overseeing these places of worship just don’t do anything about the complaints. This is by no means the only incident of this sort, we have heard many many of them yet they almost never get to trial. If it’s a foreigner then they’re imprisoned for a few months and then simply shipped out. What they do normally is get a new passport with a new name and re-enter the country at their leisure. A competent review board should be set up to evaluate and oversee the appointment of mullahs, keep them up to date, re-educate them and bring them to the current century, as well as only allow those people who have passed a stringent exam to be allowed to give out rulings.

let police do their work, village told
According to this, enraged villagers who demand retribution from a child molester whom they complained against 5 years ago and nothing was done about the situation have been told to let the police do their work in prosecuting the 60 yeaer old criminal who has been sexually abusing young boys and girls in the village for goodness knows how long.
Although I deeply respect the law, in this situation I would propose that let the families of the victims deal with animals like this.
More than this, not only this animal should be given the full extent of the law, but also the department that employed him and didn’t do anything for 5 years with the full knowledge of what a threat to the society he would be.
Heads should roll for this one…
