Two days off the island and all hell breaks loose!
We had the newly elected Jordanian parliament rejecting a law that gave women the right to divorce. We had Qatar replacing the Crown Prince We had 393 Palestinian prisoners freed which the Palestinians call a PR stunt We have the US and Bahrain start free trade talks We had the Arabs rejecting sending troops to Iraq and refuse to recognise the interim council We have the Kuwait Finance House buying Dallah Al-Barakah’s share in the Durrat Al-Bahrain mega-resort project We have a US$ 550 million horse racing and equestrian centre to be built in Bahrain by the Wiggins Group of the UK and it doesn’t seem that anyone in Bahrain cares about their privacy as there have not been any responses to my articles here and in the local papers! And probably a lot more that I’ve missed out on a lot of others things… maybe I just should not travel!

Warning on Free Trade with the US
As a Canadian, I don’t believe that free trade means something. In Canada, free trade works only for the sectors of the Canadian economy controlled by the Americans. Otherwise, you get into so-called ‘trade disputes
