A DRAFT law for the prevention of the misuse of information systems has been completed, a top government official revealed.
Central Informatics Organis-ation (CIO) acting president Shaikh Ahmed bin Ateyatalla Al Khalifa also hailed a Cabinet decision which urged all government bodies to have Internet links only through one connection via the Government Data Network.
The Cabinet has also asked the government departments to disconnect all other means of direct connections to the Internet.
This is a step in the right direction to protect the government data and to safeguard the privacy of individuals and government bodies, Shaikh Ahmed told the GDN.
“CIO has completed a draft law for the prevention of misuse of information systems,” he noted.
“The law, once approved, will go a long way in protecting the country’s information systems and computer network.”
