not any more. at home, 2nd mug of amber liquid, and hoepfully will make it to the Rumble in the Dessert tomorrow if I can find tickets for Arif and I that is. they’re completely sold out!

the craving is gone for now thank goodness. it was a bit heavy!

    damn…

Hang in there, Mahmood. However bad the craving gets, it’s not as bad as lung cancer. You want to be around when Arif is grown and having his own children. Each one of those cigarettes is an obstacle to that future.

    Hang Tough,

    Steve

    Re(1): damn…

My Mom was a smoker. About 15 years ago, the doctors saw a spot on her lung in an x-ray. It scared the hell out of her, enough to make her quit cold. She began chewing nicotine gum instead. Then slowly, as the scare wore off, she took up smoking again. Six months after the scare, she was smoking AND chewing the nicotine gum at the same time.

Two years ago she got lung cancer for real. They had to remove her lung. It’s one of the more painful operations because they must cut through your ribs in the back to reach it. The recovery was painful but steady until suddenly she faltered and declined rapidly in a couple days. Lung surgery is much more dangerous than an appendectomy. I had to make the decision to cut off life support.

You just don’t want to tread down this road. You don’t want to put Arif in that position. Get rid of the cigarettes now. Find a better vice. You might try driving people crazy on the Internet. It works for me.

I’m so sorry for your loss Steve.

I shall persevere. I am fed up of old habits and do want my next half of life to be more pleasant and healthy than the last.

I am also convinced that a lot of what my own father is experiencing now with recurrent heart-attacks, although mild, are a direct result of his smoking.

I don’t want to end up like that.

    Thanks for your support.

    Re(3): damn…

This may be your last chance to quit in time. Go another ten years smoking and your body won’t recover no matter what you do.

Have I scared you enough yet?

    Steve
