His Majesty the King, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, yesterday issued a law allowing GCC citizens to engage in all business and economic activities in Bahrain.
Only a few areas will remain off limits, the law said. According to the law, GCC nationals cannot work in the following areas: pilgrimage and omra offices, manpower agencies, insurance services, commercial agencies, government agencies services, real estate agencies, care of handicapped, special centres for the handicapped, homes and clubs for the elderly, social service centres, establishing printing and publishing establishments, establishing newspapers and magazines, establishing photography and cinema studios, setting up commercial drama troupes, setting up cinema theatres, setting up theatres for dramas, setting up art exhibition halls, car rentals and transportation services.
