The Bahrain International Circuit will open its doors to the public on Thursday May 12 for another general track day. The event allows the public to drive their own car on the racing circuit.
“We are giving the public the opportunity to driver their own cars on an award winning race circuit, said Circuit Operations Director, Mark Hughes.
“The cars must be in good (road worthy) condition with no leaks or body damages. The drivers must also have a valid driving license and will be obliged to wear a crash helmet, he continued.
The event starts off at 8am with driver signing followed by car scrutinizing. The drivers then will be divided into groups based on their ability and experience.
Before the event begins, the drivers will get a 20 minute briefing on safety issues, track rules and other procedures including different colour flags and light signals.
The track activity gears off at 9am and runs until 4pm.
“Drivers will be led around the circuit for the first three laps to get acquainted with the track layout. Depending on the number of participants, the day will either be run as an open pit lane with drivers free to drive or as timed sessions, said Hughes.
Timed sessions last for about 20 minutes.
The event can bring together a maximum of 100 drivers to enjoy a fun filled event.
The cost for the event is BD100 for the full day and BD75 for half day (9am-12pm or 1pm – 4pm). Additional drivers need to pay BD25 and passengers BD10 each.
Bookings can be made on +973-1745 0000 or through the website at www.bahraingp.com.

Re: if v8 supercars will be there
The track is actually in Bahrain, and independent country in the middle of the Arabian Gulf. Click here for more information about it and a location map. It’s probably 24 hours of travel between Australia and Bahrain by air.
For more information about the activities of the BIC, please visit their website at http://bahraingp.com where you will find the information about the V8 supercars as well as other exciting things.
We look forward to welcoming you in Bahrain!
