While Bahrain’s stock market is not exactly dead – the all-share index trading at a historic high in late November – when compared to its neighbours, it does seem somewhat lethargic.

Trading on the Bahrain Stock Exchange (BSE) now sees the index more than 30% higher than the start of the year, yet without the liquidity of oil-pumping states such as Saudi Arabia and the UAE, its markets are bound to be more sober.
