My sister Abeer has just given birth to a baby boy. Ala’a – her husband – and her called him Nasser, after my father, rest his soul.
Welcome Nasser!
An Arab man's attempt at bridging the cultural gap and trying to make a difference. Failing a lot. Succeeding once in a while.

Mabrook Mahmood 😀
Sub7an Allah, this is life isn’t it? Someone leaves yet someone comes. And our parents and grandparents live on through us as we will live through our children and grandchildren.
May he grow up and live long and prosper 🙂
Thanks!
Mabrook!
May Allah bless Nasser, his parents, family and loved ones at all times.
Mabrook Mahmood
May he live a happy life around the warm hearts of his family. And inshalla he grows up to be just like his uncle 🙂
Wonderful news! God bless him and his family. I’m sure he’ll grow up to be just as outspoken and forthright as his uncle 🙂 And he’ll probably look back fondly on this primitive blogging technique years from now as he goes through your backup files, Mahmood 🙂
thanks again all.. Hisham, your morbid thoughts really scare me! And look, I’m not using any smilies either.
Mabrook Mahmood
God bless him and your family.
Congratulations Mahmood! May God bless your nephew and the family. Nice to hear some good news aside from the global chaos for a change.

Congrats, Mahmood, inshallah yikhawel as we say in Syria, meaning yitla3 3a khalo 🙂
Congratulations Mahmoud. Reminds me when my dad passed away years ago and my sister having her second son shortly after that. Naturally named him after my dad, that’s how families work! All the best to your sister for recovering and plenty of rest!

Thanks again everyone. I’ve just had the pleasure of meeting him for the first time earlier this afternoon. As you can see, I’ve taken a few pictures with my mobile. Hopefully a lot more will be shot during his hopefully wonderful and long life.
I told my sister, and it seems that everyone in the family has the same idea, he is going to be the most spoilt brat ever existed!
Splendid news. Congratulations Mahmood.

Congrats Mahmood! When I read the title of the post I assumed it would be about neo-Nasserism in the context of the Lebanese conflict and the “New Middle East”. I need to stop reading the news.
