Ricardo deserves a Webby

He does. Rico’s been my friend for several years, one of the really creative people working at Aramco across the bridge who takes some time off once in a while to come over for a quick chat and food.

He’s been nominated for a well deserved Webby, the announcement of its winners is imminent, regardless of the result, his website: Pirates, Poets & Passion is well worth a visit.

The Webby Awards, the leading international honor for web sites, today nominated http://ricardoguzman.com for the Best Personal web site of 2005. The site is produced by the international expatriate team of Ricardo Adrian Guzman, designer/writer in Saudi Arabia and Flash developer Christian San Juan of Bahrain to create an intriguing promotional website. Winners will be announced on May 3, 2005 and honored at The Ninth Annual Webby Awards in New York City on June 6th.

Hailed as the “online Oscars� by Time Magazine , The Webby Awards are determined by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, a global organization with a membership that includes musician David Bowie, Virgin Group founder Richard Branson, The Body Shop president Anita Roddick, “Simpsons� creator Matt Groening, Real Networks CEO Rob Glaser, and fashion designer Max Azria.
