It’s my annual trip to Amsterdam to attend the International Broadcasters’ Convention to see and be seen, to visit and shake hands, to host some customers, and investigate the latest trends in our industry. And other very very tiring stuff. I tell you it’s going to be a slog… as it usually is.
So in the tradition of Mtv, here’s the guy who is to blame not only for Katrina, the tonne of bullets that ripped into a house in Dammam yesterday which killed 3 terrorist, 4 policemen and 13 bystanders, and the very existence and ludicrocity of the BNA and everything that needs someone to be blamed for in the world, is non other than:

This trip is longer than my usual day-trips, this one is a week long, so behave (not too much) and see you all when I get back. I’m not sure how much internet access I’ll be able to have, but I shall check in from time to time.

No decency, none whatsoever, considering that I took money earmarked for the Army Corps of Engineers to strengthen the levees around New Orleans, and packed it off in another no-bod contract for Halliburton. I was the one that kept weather analysts and scientists from letting their opinions be heard by administration officials. I was the one that hired someone with no experience whatsoever to head FEMA. I was the one that kept sending the miltary and the National Guard troops to a far-flung foreign country that Americans still confuse for a landlocked mountain nation where a terrorist mastermind runs amok in. I made sure that said military and National Guard were unavailable to help evacuate the Crescent City. I made sure that depp-water vehicles which could ride through floodwaters were packed off to a warehouse in the middle of the Arabian desert. Nobody saw this one coming, hah!

The trip was ok as business trips go, busy coupled with a lot of rubber burning with hardly any purchase. But still it was good to meet with old friends and colleagues and renew relationships. This I think is the most important aspect of these shows.
