Filbert, going walkabouts in the garden, originally uploaded by malyousif.
Taking Filbert out several times a day to the garden or to be with his mother for a while, which she uses to feeds and encourages him to fly has become a tradition in our house-hold.
It’s fun spending time with them in the garden, the mother has lost a lot of her timidity around us and now comes even within a meter and has no qualms on feeding her baby at that distance from us either.
Filbert does not exhibit any ill effects from these experiences. He comes back to hand quite readily and continues to play with his toys in his cage or waddles about the house or on someone’s shoulder.
In fact, he is spending an awful lot more time outside his cage than in it!
Have a wonderful Friday my friends!

Great photo, Mahmood! I also like the background. I see your Carpobrotus (Back ye devil plant!), and I see an Opuntia with its nasty little glochids trying to act innocent back there (a neighbor has that type and I learned very quickly how nasty its glochids are!)
he’s just sooo cute. you can see happiness in his eyes… it’s almost as if he’s smiling.
you know, my sister had a bird that she’d hold in her hands and take to the sink… run the water and he’d bathe right in her hands. i wonder if he’d like to do something like that? or maybe he’s too young still.
I like the new name, you’re completely Bahrainiyized now! 😉
I bought a misting can to use for my indoor plants, I used that this morning to spray him and he was like: what the hell did you do that for?
He is maybe too young for it, but he did preen a little and he stinks just a little bit less!

As it should be!
How sweet! What a great picture!
