Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is a special lash and mask kit I would like to present to our dear member of parliament Ali Mattar who suggested the very valid and totally workable solution to penalise errant journalists… WHIP THEIR ASS!
And of course Mattar is going to wear that mask while he’s doling out the lashings punishment (arabic).
Mattar of course backtracked on his brainfart and justified it by saying that he was just joking! Well, I never thought that this guy and the whole herd he belongs to have any sense of humour whatsoever. But I am obviously wrong so I fully and humbly and unambiguously apologise for my temerity.
At a time when he and his compatriots in this parliament should fight tooth and nail to increase civil rights, what we get is the continuous attempts by them to restrict them. When we look to them to develop the penal law and establish true correctional facilities, we get them proposing amputating limbs and chopping off heads to combat crime, when we want to encourage tourism, they blindly and willingly categorise any concert as satanist and entice simpletons to riot to force a closure of a concert, and the list goes on…
A joke? Not by a long shot.
It is their secret wish to change this country into an Islamist Wahabi extremist state living more than 1,400 years in the past.
It is their secret wish to encourage and applaud suicide bombers and see innocent blood flow in the streets of Bahrain.
It is their secret wish to want to kill anyone who simply opposes their twisted and moronic thoughts and beliefs, using their brand of Islam as justification.
But they are no secrets at all! They have come out and declared all of these factors in the very parliament we voted for in 2002!
The only time we will see a smile on their mugs is when they achieve their version of Bahrainistan, only then will they be happy:

Are we to continue to stand around and let these brain-dead jokers control our lives? Are these the kind of people we really want to get into parliament again?

We need a new holiday called ” lashing or whipping day “; where we all get a day-off and go to watch Al Saeedi and his gang beating some asses.
Woot !! Im not into Politics or what so ever but …
i said that before and im repeating this * Bahrain is getting F*****! .
1960’s or prolly 1970’s were way better or shall i say the Perfect life time !!!…
Brainfarts they are !!! they are bringing in SHYT Cases , and ignoring what the people really need !
Its sad … really sad … I dunno what it would be like in 2010 … !!!!
it wouldnt be anything different though, just more people asking for a *whip dat ass* day. There will always be people like that, rejecting freedom, asking for unacceptable things.. but hopefully that was real meant as a joke.
Im wondering though, if there will be a law that states, A person’s ass shall be whiped ( the number of whips depend on how much that person had effect on the public), so people should be aware. And oh what happens to female journalists? will the recruite women to whip too..
Mahmood, that picture you got up there reminds of my grandma, I have no clue why. 🙁
A joke from someone who proposed and still is pushing for chopping off hands as punishment?
From anyone else, I would have maybe (a big maybe) understood, but from this guy? No, he was “testing the waters” to see if he can steamroll this brainfart through… fortunately there were a few too many gasps than he expected, hence his lame justification.
And to think that during my time in Saudi, I always considered Bahrain a safe place of sorts or a nice escape away from… (early 90s) shows how much I knew/know!
I mentioned the eco tourism thing earlier Mahmoud, but who knows that when money talks (i.e. any tourism notions), those very negative conservative elements will get the boot..
one more thing, if these people proposed those things when they were elected, that means that A) enough of a majority of Bahrainis agreed with them B) these were not fair elections C) they made some good promises in order to piggy back ride those Bleep for brains ones.
Having said that, and here I am in the US where a lot of people did not vote and only a certain proportion of the electorate voted for Bush..idiots!
(I’m not American and can’t vote)
Oo…kinky!
Maybe the bahraini parliament will want to hire a couple dominatrixes execute such justice! I used to know a couple gals into that sort of stuff. 🙂

This man is so funny, in addition to this “joke” as he said, remeber what he said to a buch of Bahraini rock singers last weak? I’ll attend one of your parties and lead you in prayer!!!
The whole lot of his ilk are “jokers”, but unfortunately are they not a reflection of the electorate that voted for them ?
After reading the article in the Al Wasat I am convinced all the more that these “jokers” have really no idea of what democracy is, what it takes to have a democratic system, or for that matter really want one. To them its nothing but a stagepost to bring a religious dictatorship. A free press will only show their true intolerant colour. They hide behind religion and a few convenient props to push thru their agenda.
The picture you have with the religious policeman hitting a gentleman for not praying at the mosque, the religious policeman isn’t praying either. Does he flog himself? Hummmmm…
Mavis, I have just tried the following experiment, and I can confirm that the following technique does in fact work.
1. Stand upright in front of wardrobe mirror.
2. Take plastic ruler (12 inch)
3. Smack self hard on the bum.
4. Spend rest of evening taking your supper from the mantlepiece, and standing in front of the computer trying to convince the rest of Mahmoods friends into doing the same daft thing I just did.
Fine Upstanding (and smarting) Meggie
What makes me worried is that we are going to see these faces again in the next parliment! I wish I am wrong but as long they have beards and showing your ankles there will be seats reserved for them. Mahmood, keep your countdown on, only to re-set it for the new parliment.
Meggie,
I will take your word for it. LOL!
Mahmood…
You are not only a little wicked but are also very irresponsible in inflaming the secret perversions of your correspondents and causing these people to get so hot and worked up over whips and masks.
Of course I agree totally with you on the matter of those ridiculous bearded parliamentarians.
Paul “Love It” MD!
Mahmood,
What an admirable rant. I can not improve upon it and agree with it all. I hesitate to show my support for fearing of tainting your cause.
Has anybody suggested whipping the Wahhabis in public? Isn’t it time somebody did?
Steve
